Last night, oncologist Melissa Cohen, MD, and surgical specialist Eric Wieman, MD, joined film producer Tony Benna and Christy Fox, CEO of the JHIFF, for the screening of "André Is an Idiot" and a post-film panel discussion.

The film tells the poignant and surprisingly humorous story of André, a man facing a terminal colon cancer diagnosis because he didn't get a colonoscopy.

Join us for a special screening of André Is an Idiot, the 2025 Sundance Audience Award winner for Best U.S. Documentary, at the Jackson Hole International Film Festival.

This powerful documentary follows André Ricciardi, a San Francisco advertising executive (and self-described “idiot”) whose life is transformed after a stage four colon cancer diagnosis. Directed by his close friend, filmmaker Tony Benna, the film offers an intimate and deeply human look at André's journey alongside his family and friends.

Post-Screening Q&A: Stay after the film for a 20-minute conversation with filmmaker Tony Benna, SJH oncologist Dr. Melissa Cohen, and SJH surgical specialist Dr. Eric Wieman.
