Providing By Your Side and Child/Teen Bereavement Comfort 💜

Your generosity enabled the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation to distribute more than 200 supportive kits to patients and their families.

The By Your Side kits enable comfort for patients and families during those final transitional days, and the Child and Teen Kits offer age-appropriate resources to supplement Elara Caring's Bereavement program with tangible support.

Granting Lasting Wishes 💫

Over the last year, your gifts enabled 36 patients to have their Lasting Wish granted!

From a wedding celebration and photo session with a granddaughter, to a trip to the zoo with a dolphin encounter, to a seafood boil dinner with extended family, to a VIP NBA basketball experience, the variety of experiences and joy these granted wishes sparked is infectious, creating treasured memories!

Supporting Patient Needs 💜

Thanks to generous givers like you in 2025, we were able to provide for 207 patient needs for support and comfort items not covered by Medicare or insurance.

Assistance with utilities, rent, safety equipment, scooters, comfortable recliners and lift chairs, wheelchair ramps and emergency home repairs helped ease the burden on patients and their families at end-of-life.

How Can I Honor a Hospice Caregiver?

Meet Jeff, Spiritual Care Coordinator for Elara Caring's Lafayette, Indiana branch.

For the past several years, Jeff has received numerous “Hospice Heart” nominations from patients and families he has served in their end-of-life journey. These individuals have made gifts to our Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in honor of the care Jeff has provided to them.

One family told us, “I am pleased to make a donation to the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in your honor. Thank you to the many people that were so helpful during my wife’s final days. The Harmony of Hearts Circle, a special group of monthly Foundation donors, helps create a lasting, meaningful impact for hospice patients and families. Members receive a small Harmony of Hearts Circle gift along with exclusive updates that show how their generosity makes a difference.

Meet Anne, RN Case Manager for Elara Caring's Kalamazoo, MI team.

Anne has received numerous Hospice Heart nominations from patients and families she walked alongside at end of life. Donors have made gifts to our Elara Caring Hospice Foundation in honor of the care Anne has provided to them.

One family said, “Anne was very compassionate and informative on what to expect in mom’s final days.”

Another family shared, “What I remember is your professionalism, empathy, enthusiasm and humor that made your time with us so special.”

Anne told us, “The only thing I can say about hospice is that whenever I tell people what I do and they say ‘oh, you are angels.’ I always say that no, I am blessed to have a job where on good or bad days, I can go home knowing I made a difference in someone’s life.”
