Meet our Board: Becky Matthews, President

Becky has been serving as a board member since 2020. She began her career as a hospice nurse and transitioned to various roles in sales and leadership before retiring at the end of 2021. Becky has a passion for hospice and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care at the end of life.

Becky enjoys traveling with her husband, Jim, and spending time with her grandchildren in Texas and Michigan.

“Our Restorative Yoga class for bereavement is a gentle, seated class that anyone can do. We combine seated meditation, healthy breathing, visualization and mindful awareness. All you need is your body, a sturdy chair and your attention.” – Noell Hyman, Restorative Yoga Instructor

In store for 2026: Granting more Lasting Wishes! ✨

We are eager to grant more Lasting Wishes in 2026 and are thrilled to start the year strong by fulfilling a patient's wish to have a VIP experience at Monster Jam!

Join us in supporting experiences like this for hospice patients and their families. The average cost for granting each wish is $420, and our goal is to grant more than 50 wishes in 2026, totaling over $21,000.

Providing By Your Side and Child/Teen Bereavement Comfort 💜

Your generosity enabled the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation to distribute more than 200 supportive kits to patients and their families.

The By Your Side kits enable comfort for patients and families during those final transitional days, and the Child and Teen Kits offer age-appropriate resources to supplement Elara Caring's Bereavement program with tangible support.
