Answering some common questions about laser- let me know if you have a question I don’t get to here!
Q: Is laser evidence-based?
A: There are dozens, if not hundreds, of peer-clinical trials published on laser and light therapy. It’s been shown to be effective in brain injury, depression, dementia and many more conditions. There are around ten published studies now finding benefits for autism specifically. Research is ongoing, and no doubt our protocols will change as we learn even more, but we do know laser has powerful benefits to the brain.
Q: Is laser safe?
A: Laser is one of the safest interventions available when used appropriately, with no serious side effects or adverse events being reported. Safety studies have looked at blood work, MRI, EEG and more and found only positive changes in the brain.
Q: Can I buy a laser to use at home?
A: As I mentioned above, laser is very safe *when used correctly*. Personally, I only recommend use of laser at home under guidance and training by a qualified provider. In other words, I don’t suggest just buying a laser and attempting to use it on your own. In my intensives, we use laser during our sessions, and you also learn to properly implement it at home.
