To the Patients, Friends, and Family at PABWC,


It is with incredible sadness we have to announce that our receptionist, Nell Scott, has lost her 4 year old daughter. In a tragic accident, Alana drowned in her grandmother's pool on Sunday and EMS was unable to revive her. Nell and her husband, Curtis, are devastated but trying to hold it all together for their two older children. As we can imagine, this is an overwhelming task with emotional, physical, and financial implications.


We would ask that you keep the Scott family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks and months. Nell is an incredibly vital part of our family here at PABWC, greeting every patient with a beautiful smile and friendly word. In a time that could be very isolating, we want to challenge anyone touched by her kindness to join us in surrounding her with love and support. No one should have to endure the death of a child alone and we aim to ensure the Scott's do not.


PABWC is collecting donations on their behalf to go toward funeral costs and expenses associated with this unexpected tragedy. Many of us never consider saving funeral costs for our children as it is a tragedy we could never fathom having to endure. If you would like to donate via check, please make it out to Podiatry and Barefoot Wellness Center with Renelle Scott in the memo line. We will also accept cash donations. Additionally, the family has a "Go-Fund-Me" account set up and donations can be made online at https://www.gofundme.com/2n76j7d8. We will also gladly accept any gift cards to restaurants, Publix, Walmart, etc., as anything will help. It is our goal that we shower them with overwhelming support, and remind their beautiful family they are remembered during this time.


Finally, please bear with us as we strive to ensure excellent patient care without our most vital team member. If check-in takes a bit longer or we are not running quite as smoothly, please remember that we have big shoes to fill as we allow Nell the time off to grieve and work toward healing.
