Miss Willow was officially signed over last night. We are at the vet today for a work up for a suspected UTI and we will update vaccines if deemed healthy enough to do so along with bloodwork if anybody wants to help with these costs that would be greatly appreciated.

After months upon months on the street with no one being able to catch this girl, I was notified. I started with my box trap and quickly realized the only way to get her would be a missy trap, drop net or tranquilizer.

I didn’t have a missy trap, but a very kind lady I met during this sponsored the purchase.

Trap went up thanks immensely to Steve Smedley and I began working her.

Quickly realized she was threshold shy and the missy would not work the way it was intended, so I pivoted. I opened up the front and side panel, giving her a wide opening and worked on building her confidence with coming into the trap. This was done over a period of days. I slowly started closing that gap. I knew I needed to modify the trap to be able to have a quick pull shut when I got her inside.

Note she would only go in with me inside the trap or the middle of the night with no one around. (I have countless videos). I had my good friend Jason out to help a few days, making changes and yesterday we sat for hours with her. Unfortunately, there was a lot of interference from bystanders and people
In general despite 8 signs placed telling them to not feed, interact or mess with the trap.

Yesterday, a lady rushed the trap when I was feeding her inside of it; she ran and refused to come near it or me again. And then last night someone threw a bunch of s**t (two boxes of tacos/peppers/onions etc) into the trap. I went this am to clean it all up.

To my surprise, my girl was there she ran up to me tail wagging and happy. But we had a big problem, I didn’t have any chicken nuggets or tenders. It was 930 am and nowhere to get them. I again improvised and got some ham from Waffle House (thank you Susie?).

I spent time working her into the trap. Closing the panel an inch at a time. And then when I got her to the back, I knew it was NOW OR NEVER and I yanked the panel closed as hard as I could.

Baby girl is safe at my house. She is very scared, malnourished, flea infested, intestinal parasites etc.

She does have a microchip. I did call the registered owner and it doesn’t appear they want her back. I hope they sign surrender forms.

Her name is Willow, she needs a full workup at the vet. And if they sign the papers, a new forever home.

She is very sweet, dog and cat friendly. She would run around playing with the cats at ihop. She has ignored two of my dogs (not introduced to the other 3 cause they can be special. lol)

And yes, at the end of the video where it cuts off is me cussing out a Waffle House employee. I asked him to hold the door shut while I leashed her and secured her, he refused. Yet just days prior he had no issues messing with my trap and camera, s**t talking me, saying I don’t know what I’m doing and I’ll never catch the dog. So yeah, I cussed him out and I’d do it again. 🤷‍♀️

UPDATE She is being signed over to me today. Once that is official, I’ll discuss next steps. If anybody would like to help with funds to update her vaccines, blood work, f***l and prevention that would be very helpful.

I trapped this girl and had a spay abort done at EveryPet on 04/22 (working on a massive colony). Brought her home on 04/22, on 04/23 noted she didn’t eat, move, use the litterbox etc overnight. Not unusual, let her rest ans rechecked that evening….she was pale pale, lethargic and abdomen bruised….she was bleeding internally. I brought her into the clinic where we quickly put together a plan.
My mother in-law brought Ariannah and her cat Bandit to the clinic. Bandit donated 40mls of blood for Tawny and then we brought her into surgery. Dr Goricki and Dr Oglesby removed numerous clots, found the source of the bleeding and repaired everything.
She is at our house recovering uneventfully thus far.

This was a financial hit we were not prepared for as this is a colony cat, but I refused to sit by and just let her die. She is very sweet! I don’t know what the plan is long term, but she will not be released back outside. ❤️

RIP Sylvester, our sweet neighborhood TNR cat. 🐈‍⬛
Sylvester was here when we moved in this neighborhood in October of 2018. He immediately took to Ariannah. They would walk together but his favorite thing was waiting for the belly rubs, but only from her. We have medically treated him various times, he became apprehensive of me due to the number of times I caught him for medical treatment and brought him into the vet clinic. I trapped him in February for a huge abscess on his face, and unfortunately, after being released from that, he was spotted non-weight-bearing on his front left leg and despite tireless efforts, it took over a month to be able to get him. (Thank you Rebecca for your help). Unfortunately, his leg was badly broken, and he also had two bite wounds on each front leg significant edema, and he was septic along with being FIV positive. The kindest most humane thing we could do for him was to give him a pain free passing.
Ariannah spent hours holding him talking to him, petting him and feeding him snackies before we said our official goodbyes.
We are having him cremated privately, and he will come back to our house as his final resting spot on the shelf with the rest of our babies.
We did everything we could tho we can’t say the same for the lady in our neighborhood who refused to acknowledge multiple notes left on her door, phone calls, text messages, emails including animal control leaving a notice all just asking her if she could touch the cat to put him in a carrier or allow us to put the drop trap in her driveway where he frequently laid and she fed twice a day. The worst part is feeling like we could have done more to save him or that it was possible to save him, but due to an ignorant unkind uncaring piece of trash he suffered unnecessarily for weeks on an end.

I TNR’ed this very sweet cat from a colony of approximately 60 cats, we have already completed surgeries and vaccines on 22 of the cats. This girl was one of the ones we did a spay abort on, late last night she was exhibiting signs of internal bleeding with bruising spreading on her abdomen and extremely pale gums. Currently headed to surgery to save her life. If anyone wants to help, Greenbriar animal hospital in St. John’s is doing the surgery now.
Her name is
TawnyPelt last name Ganzhorn

Thank you thank you.

Edited post for clarity, I was in the middle of handling all of this. A few key details were missing and the post was jumbled.

Update: out of surgery and recovering well. Dr was able to locate the source of the bleeding and stop it. She will hopefully continue recovering well. She’s very sweet. Young girl 1-2 years, FIV/Felv negative.

Still Working on trapping this girl. It’s truly unfortunate people choose not to follow directions. Three signs posted saying to not feed, interact or interfere; yet they do.
She is starting to really trust me so I’ll continue working her. This was day 2 in a row of sitting with her for hours upon hours.

Trapped another 5 cats today.
So far 3 spay aborts. And I believe tomorrow will be another 3.
Still needing help if you’ve got traps, open slots at EveryPet etc.
After this, Im done for a bit. Im exhausted and not really getting any help from the community. Truly sad for these cats.
