I want to acknowledge that not everyone has the resources to have a GRAND team like this. I feel very blessed that I was able to use all of these amazing providers during my pregnancy and postpartum. It truly does take a village.
I know I would not be breastfeeding 4 months postpartum if it weren’t for this team.
I know I would have had more musculoskeletal dysfunctions postpartum if it were not for this team.
I would not feel as good mentally if it were not for this team.
Find your team! Ask for help. Jacksonville has so many amazing providers.

I’m 3 months in as a Mom. These are just a few of the many lessons I have learned or am still learning.

Your pelvic floor just went through a lot so be kind to her. When you’re newly postpartum try gentle breathing with pelvic floor muscle relaxation and gentle activation instead of intense strengthening.

11 weeks into being a mom has got me reflecting. Looking at all of my pregnancy photos reminds me how amazing the female body is! I’ve never felt more proud of my body

In the early morning hours of July 21st we welcomed our son at home in the water with the guidance of my midwife, doula, and my sister in law. My husband supported me so much and truly shocked me with the way he cared for me postpartum.

My labor was swift and, because of my rapid dilation, incredibly painful at times. Once I got into that tub and had the urge to push I knew I could do it.

God is good and women are the strongest things on planet earth.

Kegels are not appropriate for everyone. Stop doing kegels AND find a pelvic floor PT who can tell you if you should be doing them and/or if you’re doing them correctly!

If you were told you had a vaginal tear during delivery but didn’t know what the staging meant this post is for you!

A pelvic floor PT can help manage the scar tissue and pain associated with vaginal tearing. If left untreated sometimes pain with intimacy and bowel movements can occur.
