Life Tree Women Care

Life Tree Women Care Life Tree Women Care Inc. offers culturally competent and safe care to every patient.

As many women have never seen a medical provider that is of the same ethnicity (which adds to the lack of connection), Life Tree Women Care ensures a staff that is of diverse ethnicities to increase connection and inclusion. The clinic’s location was specifically chosen as a place accessible to those relying on public transportation. Life Tree Women Care collaborates with other medical providers and community services to bring balance and maintenance to healthy lives for all. The goal is to impact the trust the community has for the medical profession in a positive way.

“Too many women on the Westside lack access to effective and affordable care,” explained Co-Founder Jamie Neal, ARNP. “We want to change that while prioritizing healthcare services for all women with both quality and cultural competence."

Getting an abnormal test result can feel scary, but it’s important to remember what that really means.

A screening test identifies possible concerns early and is not meant to diagnose a condition, so a positive result is not a reason to panic. It simply means you need follow-up testing and a conversation with your provider to understand the next steps with confidence.

Many moms-to-be wonder when it's time to stop lying flat on their backs during pregnancy.

Early on, your uterus sits low in the pelvis, so any position is fine. Around 24 to 28 weeks, as your baby grows and your uterus gets higher, lying on your back can press on major blood vessels and reduce blood flow to you and your baby.

Sleeping on your side helps keep circulation healthy and you feeling your best.

Your body’s final stretch before meeting your baby.

During the third trimester, you may notice more frequent bathroom trips, practice contractions, and even a burst of energy to prepare your space (hello, nesting instinct!).

Each change is your body’s way of getting ready for birth, a reminder of just how strong you are.

After giving birth, your body works hard to release extra fluid and blood volume from pregnancy.

That fluid often collects in your bladder, especially if you are staying well hydrated as recommended. If your bladder becomes too full, it can press against your uterus and lead to heavier bleeding and more pain.

Remember to go to the bathroom regularly to keep your recovery smooth and comfortable.

Some patients ask if they can drink apple juice instead of the standard glucose drink for their one-hour test.

The answer is no.

The test must be standardized, which is why the lab provides a specific drink that contains the exact amount of glucose needed for accurate results. Using other drinks like juice can alter the outcome and make the test unreliable.
