Truly listening to their stories and incorporating their feedback is key to improving the care that we provide. Today, Bradlee Robbert, Director of Operations at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute, moderated a discussion on "Patient Voices", highlighting the perspectives of several proton patient advocates.

Today's panel discussion at the National Proton Conference included Kasey Heilman, Development Director at UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Kasey shared the importance of philanthropy and how it positively impacts patients through access to proton therapy and the non-reimbursable interventions.

Programs such as support groups, patient activities, the pediatric support program and our transportation program are possible through donations as they are not covered by insurance. Having a Child Life Specialist on staff dedicated to supporting our youngest patients through treatment is invaluable, all thanks to philanthropy.

The 2026 National Proton Conference is kicking off today in Nashville! We love this opportunity to connect with other proton experts, learn something new, and share what we have learned in 20 years of treating patients with proton therapy!

As the Chair of the Board of Directors for The National Association for Proton Therapy, Kristin Heath, DBA, MBA, MHA and Executive Director of UF Health Proton Therapy Institute helped kick-off the conference during the Welcoming Remarks. Dr. Samuel Jean-Baptiste will participate as a Physician Advisory Council member, Director of Development Kasey Heilman will discuss philanthropic partnerships, and Bradlee Robbert, FACHE, MHA, RT (R)(T) will moderate the session on patient experience.
