Today, Jacksonville is a hub for proton therapy with 3 centers thanks to our dedication to collaborative research, and advocacy for proton therapy through The National Association for Proton Therapy. There are many people who have not heard of proton therapy and the benefits of this technology in creating better outcomes for people diagnosed with cancer. Jennifer Maggiore, Executive Director of The National Association for Proton Therapy, recently replied to an article published by the Wall Street Journal, titled: "Technology Is Making the War on Cancer Winnable" which left out proton therapy.

Have you noticed our new rope to use as you ring Aud's chime to mark your final treatment? This was a collaborative effort between our partners Art with a Heart in Healthcare, and our patients and their family members who helped decorate the wooden disks on the decorative tassels. Thank you!

Today, breast cancer survivors and their caregivers came together to learn ways to continue to support themselves in survivorship.

➡️ Radiation oncology nurse practitioner and breast cancer expert, Teena Burchianti, shared insight into practical care tips and what to expect after treatment ends.
➡️ Dr. Julie Bradley shared her passion for "Food is Medicine" and brought in healthy food options that everyone can easily introduce into their meal planning.
➡️ The session on mindfulness lead by Tamara Sorrye, LMHC, helped each individual take a moment to focus on what was important to them.
