OSHA Recommends Fit Testing for PPE in Construction, including hearing protection (29 CFR 1926.95(c)(2). Recently, we went to the conference in Charleston, SC and learned a lot of Hearing Protection Fit Testing. One size definitely does not fit all when it comes to hearing protection. PAR (personal attenuation ratings) vary from person to person with different types of hearing protection. It was also evident that proper training on how to use the hearing protection is also paramount when it comes to the amount of protection you are getting.
