Day 8 of 99 Days to FASDay: Today's fact is a surprise to many - that the recognizable facial features of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) or FASD with sentinel facial features, occurs in only about 10% of individuals and only when alcohol is consumed within a 2 - 3 day period of pregnancy.

Welcome to Day 4 of 99 Days to . While the information for this graphic came from a 1993 study of twins, another study of twins released in 2019 confirmed virtually identical prenatal alcohol exposures can lead to markedly different fetal alcohol spectrum disorder outcomes.

Please note the diagnostic terms for have changed since 1993 but the results from the 2019 study did not change.
