Winter Weather Update 1PM - February 1, 2026:

Primary roads are hazardous, and secondary roads are extremely dangerous. Icy conditions and snow drifts are widespread, with total snowfall reaching approximately 10 inches. Emergency crews have responded to 24 stranded vehicles and two wrecks.

Emergency Medical Services continues to respond to calls, but response times are delayed. Onslow County urges everyone to avoid nonessential travel. This keeps roads clear of vehicle crashes and ensures first responders are available to respond to urgent situations.

Citizens with nonemergent calls are asked to contact the Citizen Phone Bank at 910 989 5027. Phone bank staff can answer questions about shelter inquiries, curfew information, and other basic requests.

A curfew remains in effect from 6PM-6AM for the unincorporated areas of Onslow County. For information on any municipal curfews visit the official websites or social media channels for the respective city or town.

Due to snow levels, road conditions, and safety, we will be closed, Monday , February 2nd. We plan to reopen Tuesday at regular hours. Keep warm, stay home, and don't drive unless absolutely necessary. Some hazards are unpredictable.
