In Pretoria, South Africa, something beautiful is unfolding.

Global Doula Project is honored to sponsor the training of six new community doulas alongside the incredible trainers at Mama Bamba (which means “mother’s embrace” in many local languages).

The training is in English, but these doulas also carry the gift of speaking Northern Sotho, Afrikaans, Tswana, and Zulu. That means the knowledge they gain will be shared in the languages of their own communities—building bridges of trust, understanding, and care.

Because the truth is simple: the most powerful support often comes from someone who understands where you come from, speaks your language, and shares your story.

We couldn’t be more proud of these future doulas and the families they’ll walk alongside. ✨

🌸✨ Doula Sol has a new logo! ✨🌸

We are so excited to share our refreshed symbol, inspired by the divine gift of Mother Earth and the sacred role of all birthers.

This design honors the beautiful cycle of life—how mothers, caregivers, and even Mother Earth herself hold the seeds of possibility, protect them, and lovingly nurture them until they are ready to grow and become. 🌱💫

Every journey of birth, transformation, and becoming is sacred. Our new logo is a reminder that within every seed lies infinite potential, and with care and love, that potential blossoms into life. 🌍🤲🏾

Over time, our logo may continue to evolve—with subtle refinements guided by feedback and vision. Just as life itself grows stronger with nurturing, these small adjustments will help the design reach its fullest potential, creating a symbol with stability, integrity, and continuous growth that defines Doula Sol. 🌿✨

Dads and all non breastfeeding partners!!! There are things you can "demand" to do as a card-carrying member of the breastfeeding union✊🏿✌️🫶🤟💪🏽. It is likely that by participating you acknowledge that breastfeeding and pumping is loving labor!!!

Fathers may support breastfeeding, too!

They can make breastfeeding an easier job for a new mum by:
❤️listening to her
❤️Encouraging her

They can offer practical help while she rests by:
❤️cuddling the baby and playing with them
❤️bathing the baby
❤️burping the baby

When you see the early signs of your baby being ready for breast or bottle, that's a good time to prepare, if you don't choose operate on a schedule. If you breastfeed, once you witness your baby's hunger cues, your body may automatically let-down (when you feel the milk from the inside "let-down" to fill your breast). My first child was ravenous for 5 months. I invested in breast pads to save my shirts.

💡 Feeding Cues in Newborns 💡

Babies show signs when they’re hungry—long before they cry. Watch for these early cues:

👄 Early Cues – Stirring, opening mouth, turning head (rooting)
✋ Mid Cues – Hand-to-mouth movements, sucking on fingers, fussing
😢 Late Cue – Crying (a sign baby is already very hungry)

👉 Tip: Try to feed your baby during the early or mid cues for a calmer, happier feeding experience. 💕
