A little lip filler education! 💋👄 We understand getting lip filler can be scary, so it’s important to know how to prepare and what to expect on your journey. 7 Days Before
• Avoid blood thinners if medically safe (confirm with your provider):
• Aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen
• Fish oil, omega-3s
• Vitamin E
• Ginkgo, garlic, ginseng, turmeric
• Avoid alcohol for at least 48–72 hours prior
• Stop retinoids/exfoliants on lips
• No dental work within 2 weeks of treatment if possible
3–5 Days Before
• Increase hydration
• Pineapple (bromelain) or arnica may help reduce bruising
• Avoid waxing, threading, or laser treatments around the mouth
Immediately After (First 24 Hours)
• Ice intermittently (10–15 minutes at a time) to reduce swelling and bruising
• Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the lips unless specifically instructed by your injector
• Stay upright for at least 4 hours
• Hydrate well
• Use gentle lip balm only
First 24–48 Hours
• Avoid strenuous exercise
• No alcohol
• Avoid excessive heat (hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs)
• Avoid makeup on lips for 24 hours if possible
• No kissing, straws, smoking, or va**ng for at least 24 hours (48 hours preferred)
First 3–7 Days
• Expect swelling, firmness, asymmetry, or small lumps
• Avoid dental work, facials, or lip treatments
• Sleep on your back when possible
• Avoid NSAIDs unless approved (acetaminophen preferred if needed). Bruising, swelling, and tenderness are expected and will resolve in 10-14 days.
