Today, KANDU Industries was proud to join the A-Team at the Wisconsin State Capitol to thank legislators for their continued support of organizations like KANDU that provide meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities.
We had important conversations about what it truly takes to create inclusive employment environments. For many of the individuals we serve, having the opportunity to work is about far more than a paycheck. It’s about building skills, gaining confidence, forming friendships, and experiencing the pride that comes from contributing to something meaningful.
We also shared the financial realities behind providing individualized supports. Job coaching, supervision, specialized training, transportation, and adaptive accommodations are essential to helping our client workers succeed. These additional layers of support require significant resources — but they are what make opportunity possible.
At KANDU, work means:
• Skill development and hands-on training
• Social connection and teamwork
• A sense of belonging
• Pride in earning a paycheck
• Contributing to our communities
We are grateful for the legislators who took time to listen and learn more about the impact of inclusive employment in Wisconsin. Advocacy matters — because when we invest in opportunity, we strengthen individuals, families, businesses, and our entire community.
Thank you for supporting the work happening inside KANDU.
