While we honor those for National Telecommunicators Week, we pause to celebrate a teammate's dedication to the profession for the past 25 years. From a chance stop at a former Kansas City base to a lifelong career, AirCom Specialist III Patrick Brungardt has spent the last 25 years helping guide Air Methods crews safely through every mission. A true cornerstone of AirCom, he’s worked across all four regions and supported the majority of our programs, serving not just as a communications expert but as a steady voice for crews.

Driven by a lifelong passion for aviation and EMS, Patrick has found his calling, combining both into a career defined by purpose, teamwork, and impact. Along the way, he’s mentored new team members, supported countless crews, and earned a few legendary nicknames like "The Ancient," “Yoda,” and “The Oracle.”

Thank you, Patrick, for two and a half decades of commitment, expertise, and heart. Your voice has guided thousands, and your impact will be felt for years to come.

It’s the first day of spring and we are off to a busy start on this beautiful day!

Every mission matters, but when the patient is a child, the responsibility feels even greater.

Our crews are specially trained to care for the smallest and most vulnerable patients. From premature newborns to critically ill children, our flight nurses, paramedics, pilots, and communication specialists work together to deliver rapid, lifesaving care.

March is Pediatric Transport Month, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible teams who bring skill, compassion, and calm to every pediatric mission, giving young patients the best chance at recovery.

We want to provide an update regarding an incident involving our Alabama Life Saver 5 aircraft on Sunday in Evergreen, AL. Three crewmembers were on board. Two remain hospitalized in stable condition and are receiving excellent care. The NTSB, along with the FAA and Air Methods, is investigating the cause.
