With Thanksgiving this week...let's talk Gratitude!
1.Find 3-5 things that you are grateful for each day. These can be simple things, such as the sunshine, scent of your favorite candle, the ability to reach out to a friend or loved one, or a satisfying meal.
2. We cannot be anxious at the same time that we are thinking about things we are grateful for because they use different parts of the brain.
3.Verbalizing something that you appreciate about a friend or loved one to the other person can strengthen the relationship and increase your own sense of wellbeing.
4.Gratitude reduces stress and cortisol levels.
5. Developing a daily gratitude habit can improve physical health, including lowering blood pressure and improving sleep. If you have difficulty sleeping, try thinking about the things you are grateful for rather than that endless to-do list.

When starting conversations with your children related to online habits and safety, it's important to come into those conversations with curiosity first and explanation of boundaries second. You want to invite the child to "educate" you about their world. They are much more likely to listen when they first feel understood. Starting conversations early with a sense of acceptance sets the tone that you value their interests. Letting them talk more than you at first also allows you to tailor your boundaries based on an up to date knowledge of what your child is engaged in.
