A Two-Week Ride: Sindi, Country Roads, and Little Adventures
Wow, what a two weeks with Sindi and seeing the country. Here’s a snapshot of the journey, with the highs, the little scares, and the everyday magic that made it unforgettable.
Left on Nov 3 with the two littles
Spent time at their place in Kansas
Tried to rest, but the littles made that tricky—and totally worth it
So many conversations and quality time in the country
Ben picked the littles up last Saturday
Then, Wednesday, we headed to Montana
My first 18-hour trip straight—yikes, nerve-wracking and exciting all at once 😳😳😳
Montana days
Time at the farm was lovely, even though I’m not a farm girl at heart
Ear covers and sandals on for the adventures and the weather 🤣
Riding in a side-by-side moving cows felt thrilling (a little heart-stopping, but mostly exhilarating)
My kids would have loved it
Signal Hill
Took me up to see Signal Hill—beautiful but very, very steep
I lived to tell the tale; thank goodness Sindi is such a good driver
Nightly routines
Introduced them to Reacher; we watched it nightly
Sindi dozes off, but I kept her caught up between her little naps
Shorter days and early bedtimes
Starting to get dark around 4:30 PM—crazy and cozy at the same time
I was ready for bed real early
Garden meals and hospitality
Cooked food from her garden—so good
She waited on me more than I’m used to, which felt wonderful
Leaving with no swollen feet today and feeling refreshed
The journey home
21 hours back to Jasper to get my SUV, then onto Ben’s to see everyone
I’ll be splitting the trip up over a couple of days
Just in time to get ready for Thanksgiving
The takeaway
Like I always say, everyone needs a friend like Sindi
Until next time ❤️
