Homecoming is this Saturday, October 25th! We will open our 17th Biennial Art Faculty Exhibition with a public reception on Saturday, 10am to 12:noon. Come see new work by Professors Hartman Folks, Jessie, Rabun, & Underwood. This exhibit will then continue in the Michael Alvis Art Gallery (Warren Art Building, on campus) through December 3, 2025.

These are just a few detail views of some of the artworks that will be on view for another 2 weeks in the Knoxville Watercolor Society Group Exhibition, on the C-N campus, in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery. Come see this great show! Varied work by 19 members of the Knoxville Watercolor Society, on view now through October 10th, 2025. The gallery is open M-F, 8am to 4pm. Everyone is invited! Colorful cool art coming soon! The Knoxville Watercolor Society Group Art Exhibition will open with a public reception, Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery, in the Warren Art Building, on campus. Homecoming Alumni Exhibition by Chris McAdoo! This Saturday, November 02nd! Join us for the opening reception of the solo Alumni Exhibition, by year 2000 Art major graduate, Mr. Chris McAdoo, C-N Homecoming Saturday, November 02, 2024; 9:30am to 12:noon. See printmaking, graphics, and fine art paintings, in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery, in the Warren Art Building. Chris will give a casual gallery talk during the reception, around 11:00am. We’re organizing a silent auction to raise funds for the artists and residents impacted by Hurricane Helene in Asheville’s River Arts District. Hosted by Fischman Gallery in downtown Johnson City, this is your chance to support those who have lost their homes, studios, and workspaces due to the devastation. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!

Last week the C-N Art Department opened the art exhibition, "Mark Flowers: Visual Jazz," in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery, with a gallery talk by the accomplished artist, Mr. Mark Flowers. We will open our first professional art exhibition of this academic year this Thursday, September 12th, with an opening reception, 3pm to 5pm, with a solo exhibition by Mark Flowers. His show, "Visual Jazz," will include a number of energetic, engaging mixed-media works. Mr. Flowers, a retired art teacher and college art professor, is our guest artist from the mountains of western North Carolina. After this Thursday afternoon's opening, this exhibition will remain in the Michael Alvis Art Gallery through October 11th.
