These two terms are often used interchangeably, but they're not quite the same thing.

A visitation is a time for family and friends to gather, offer condolences, and support one another. The casket may be open or closed—or there may be no casket present at all.
A viewing specifically refers to a time when the deceased is present and the casket is open, allowing loved ones to see and say goodbye.

"I'm BreAnna Williams, but you can simply call me Bre. My path to assisting grieving families began in my childhood, and that seed of passion has blossomed into a fulfilling career as a funeral director and embalmer.

A native Leonard, Missourian turned Jefferson City transplant, I fell in love with its warm, small-town atmosphere. I began my journey with Freeman Mortuary in 2014, where the commitment to serving people and aiding in the healing process deeply resonated with me.

In 2023, I reached a proud milestone in my career by becoming part owner of Freeman Mortuary. The opportunity to be a part of such an incredible team and to learn about and celebrate individuals using the diverse perspectives of their loved ones is a privilege I cherish.

For me, being a funeral director is more than a profession; it's a calling. In every interaction, I see a chance to fulfill the purpose I was created for. I find profound satisfaction in guiding families through challenging times and contributing to their healing journey.

In case you're curious here are a few fun facts about me: I reread the Harry Potter series annually (and watch the movies even more). I have a dog, Willow and two cats, Salem and Iris. I love to cook, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, and crochet. I teach myself a new skill every quarter. My autumn months are spent on the sidelines watching my husband, Roderick, coach high school football. My nieces and nephews are my pride and joy!

I feel very fortunate that my job is a meaningful endeavor, where compassion, connection, and purpose converge to create a lasting impact."
