🕊️ Amber Dawn "Cookie Patel", Conner, 45, of Jefferson City, Mo passed away suddenly on November 17, 2025. She was born October 25, 1980 in Wichita, Kansas to Rickey M. and Ruth J. (Philbert) Fisher, who survive.

Amber was a 1999 graduate of Eugene High School, Eugene, Mo and a graduate of Metro Business College with a degree in Business Administration. She was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, Henley.

She loved crafting, going to the casino's, the blues, the cardinals and couponing, but most importantly Patience who was her closest friend. She had been employed at Jefferson Bank, Pals E-Z Stop and currently employed at Miller Iron and Metal as a Business Administrator.

Amber is survived by her daughters: Patience Conner, Victoria Miller, and bonus daughter: Ellie Fenton; her significant other: Kevin Miller; siblings: Amy (Donald) Henson, of Fulton, MO and Lori Fenton, of Eldon, Mo.; niece and nephews: Hayden Henson, Scott Collin Henson and Donald (Doc)(Taylor) Fenton; one great nephew: Donald M. Fenton.

A Celebration of Amber’s Life will be Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Brazito Lions Club. At the request of the family please dress casually.

🕊️ Mr. Lester “Ray” Mobley, 62, Holts Summit, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1963 in Jefferson City, a son of the late Lester C. and Minerva (Powell) Mobley.

Ray enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family, cherishing his grandchildren especially. He liked taking walks around town, being social, and making friends easily.

He is survived by children: Kameron Fain of Jefferson City, Chandler Richards (Andrew) of Tebbetts, Olivia Fain (Chris Horn) of Jefferson City; twelve grandchildren; siblings: Debbie Childress of Booneville, IN., Terry Mobley of Holts Summit, Larry Mobley (Brenda) of Washington, OK., Lorie Schell (Paul) of Holts Summit, Lisa Thomas of Jefferson City; numerous nieces and nephews.

🕊️ Rowland D. Blythe, 63, Ashland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born November 27, 1961 at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, a son of Glen and Margie Blythe. A long time resident of Ashland, he attended Ashland High School.

Rowland grew up with the roar of engines in his blood. He followed proudly in his father’s footsteps, spending decades chasing checkered flags on dirt tracks across the region. Even when he wasn’t behind the wheel, you could find him glued to NASCAR races on Sunday afternoons or cheering for his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
Together with his brother: DeWayne, he owned and operated Blythe Automotive in Ashland, where wrenches turned and stories were swapped.

He is survived by his mother: Margie Blythe of Ashland; brother: DeWayne Blythe (LeeAnn) of Ashland; sister: Sherry Teel (Michael) of Fulton; son: Dustin Blythe of Columbia; daughter: Taylor Basinger of Hartsburg; four grandchildren: Caleb, Charlee, and Levi of Columbia, and Emberlyn of Hartsburg; nephews: Matthew (Whitney) Simms of Ashland, Tylor Blythe of Ashland, Cameron Schafer of Fulton; niece: Ashley Blythe of Ashland; one very heartbroken dog: Red; many cousins and a lifetime of close friends.

Rowland was preceded in death by his father: Glen Blythe.

A Celebration of Rowland’s Life will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Ashland Optimist Club. Come as you are; Chiefs gear and racing stories encouraged.

Interment will be private for the family in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery - Hartsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you rev an engine in his memory, root a little louder for the Chiefs, or deal a hand of cards with someone you love. Rest easy, Rowland, The green flag’s waving up there, and your dad’s already got the car warmed up.

🕊️ Mr. Danny L. Tyler, 53, Eugene, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born February 1, 1972 in Tuscumbia, a son of Jackie M. and Ruby K. (Harrison) Tyler. On July 3, 2011 he was united in marriage to Wanda Patterson who survives at their home.

In addition to his wife: Wanda, he is survived by his father: Jackie (Billie) Tyler; two stepdaughters: Jessica Pearson of Jefferson City, Paige Webb of Ft. 🕊️ It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of beloved father and son, Jerome “Nyck” Nixon, on November 2, 2025, at the age of 63, Jefferson City. There was nothing more important to Jerome than being a devoted and loving father to his cherished son, Chazari “Chaz” Nixon. Jerome is survived by Chaz, his father, Nathaniel Nixon, his adopted son, Joshua Decker, his co-parenting partner, Julie Decker, and his siblings Daryl Nixon and Dianna Nixon. Jerome also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and mentees, including his childhood friend, Conney Hardy, and dear friends Mike and Lynn Bollinger. Jerome was predeceased by his mother, Verdell Nixon, whom he loved dearly.

Jerome was born on November 17, 1961, and was raised in Spring Valley, New York. He attended college at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he not only excelled at playing football but was a talented artist, mentor and active member of the community. Jerome’s combined passion for mentoring and sports was evident throughout his life. He was an avid sports fan with a deep love and passion for his home state of New York and its sports teams.

After graduation from college, Jerome made Jefferson City, Missouri his second home. He began working for Parks and Recreation, beginning as a part-time Baseball Coordinator and Field Supervisor, in May 1989. He later became a full-time Recreation Supervisor from August 1993 until August 1999. Jerome then took on a vital position as a Youth Specialist with the State of Missouri at the Fulton Center, where he supervised youth offenders, coordinating their treatment and rehabilitation. He was dedicated to the well-being of the youth in his care and also supervised staff members.

Jerome loved sports and was known for his creativity and leadership. Throughout his personal and professional life, he touched the lives of many with his kindness, charismatic nature, wisdom and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Jerome’s legacy will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he influenced. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for his devotion to Chaz, his family and his passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Jerome’s life will be held by his family and friends at a later date.

Rest in peace, Jerome. Your spirit will live on through the love you shared and the lives you changed. Your legacy will live forever through Chaz.

🕊️ Peter Patrick Hibdon, 60, Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born September 1, 1965, to the late Ralph and Joanne Hibdon.

Peter was raised in Jefferson City and was a graduate of Helias High School.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Video/Cinema/Film from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his career, Peter worked and lived in both Chicago, Illinois and San Francisco, California producing a diverse array of content including commercials, live events, and web videos.

In 2018, Peter returned to Jefferson City, where he resided until his passing.

He is survived by his siblings: William (Deborah) Hibdon, John (Sharon) Hibdon, James (Frances) Hibdon, Rosanne Hibdon, Jeanne (Kevin) Allen, Mary (John) Ford, Susan (Butch) Zbinden, Robert (Gail) Hibdon, and Kristen (Bernardo) Obeso; his uncle, John Parichy; and many nieces and nephews.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Joanne Hibdon.

🕊️ Erik Lamont Spencer Jr., 27, Jefferson City, gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born to Lorraine Schofield and Erik Spencer Sr. He was a 2016 graduate of Cumberland Regional High School and a former student of Lincoln University. Erik was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose spirit could light up even the heaviest of hearts.

He was currently employed with Verizon.

Erik lived with purpose, led by love, guided by faith, and grounded in God. He believed in grace, forgiveness, and the power of prayer. His strength came not from the world, but from his trust in something higher. Even through life’s challenges, Erik’s faith never wavered. It shaped the way he loved people, treated others, and carried himself with humility and pride.

He had a gift for connection; the kind of presence that made people feel seen, understood, and valued. His laughter filled rooms, his smile lifted spirits, and his words often reminded others that no matter what they faced, God wasn’t done with them yet. Erik was a listener, a restorer, and a light in the lives of those around him. Though his time here was far too short, Erik lived fully. He found beauty in small moments, strength in faith, and joy in the people he loved most. His legacy will forever remind us to love deeply, forgive freely, and walk with God through every season.

In addition to his parents: Lorraine Schofield and Erik L. Spencer Sr.; he is survived by his siblings: Jermaine Clark, Erika Smith-Spencer, Ka’Leen Spencer, Derik Harrison, Emanye Royster, Savannah Schofield.

🕊️ Mary “Jane” Kesel, 78, Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She was born July 29, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Philip and Nora “Alice” Ruch Kesel.

Jane was a graduate of St. John the Baptist High School in St. Louis. She worked in various administrative roles for the State of Missouri and Marriott Food Services throughout her career. Outside of work she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed puzzles, quilting, and crafting.

She is survived by her daughters: Alice Messenger, Julie (Jerome) Wieberg, and Kerri (Travis) Tesreau; a son: Kenneth (Angela) Twehus; grandchildren: Jeremiah (Rachel) Lashley, Joshua (Annabelle) Wieberg, Jordan (Ryan) Burkhart, Ethan (Anna) Twehus, Courtney (Joe) Christian, Mariah Messenger, Casey (Eva) Littrell, Scott Messenger, Christopher Littrell, Alexander Tesreau, and Abigail Tesreau; brothers: Sylvester (Mary) Kesel, Don (Sharon) Kesel, Roger (Jenny) Kesel, Daniel (Carolyn) Kesel, and Mark (Vonna) Kesel; sisters: Genevieve (Leonard) Jaco, Veronica (Vic) Kemna, Shirley (Henry) Kemna, Clara (Joshua) McGowin, Sharon Kesel, Gail (John) Kempker, Donna (Tony) Belfiore, and Dana Alexander; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

🇺🇸 Mr. Harold (Harry) Francis Schmitz, 77, Westphalia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 21, 2025. He was born a son of the late Raymond and Martha Schmitz on April 7, 1948. He was a 1966 graduate of Fatima High School.

Harry was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served two tours of duty from 1967-1969, with an elite team specializing as an Underwater Demolition Technician (UDT) and Army frogman. Upon returning home from service, he attended Lincoln University. Harry went into the family business manufacturing livestock feed at Westphalia Milling Company where he later became a third-generation co-owner.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jan (Null) Schmitz; his children, Aaron (Kristin), and Lee (Jessica) Schmitz; his grandchildren, Korbett, Teagan, and Hunter; and his siblings, Jim, Stanley, Ralph and Barbara.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Martha Schmitz; and sister: Mary Lea.

Harry’s life was defined by courage, devotion, and an unwavering love and commitment to his family and friends. His service to his country remained a cornerstone of his character. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quick wit, passion for the outdoors, and gardening.

A Private Service will be held on the family property at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org or to a charity of choice.

🕊️ William “Bill” Kliethermes, 70, Westphalia, was born August 8, 1955 and grew up in Loose Creek, a son of Clifford and Irene (Keefe) Kliethermes, passed from this life peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

He was a 1973 graduate of Fatima High School. Bill was united in marriage on August 26, 1978. at Holy Family Church in Freeburg to Sheila Iven who survives at their home.

Bill never backed away from hard work starting at a young age, working with his dad in construction. After graduating high school Bill was employed at the Missouri Department of Transportation for a short time and then went back to the craft he loved, building things with his hands. Bill owned and operated Kliethermes Construction for over 30 years.

He was a devoted husband to Sheila, his wife of 47 years, and a mighty proud father to 3 daughters and one son. Jessi (Matt) Schwartze, Stephanie Kliethermes, Stacie (Ryan) Gilmore and Brian Kliethermes. Bill built and provided a home out of wood and brick and filled it with love and support for his family and friends.

Bill was wild and fun-loving in his youth, compassionate and humble as he grew older. He dedicated his life to his family, not with extravagant vacations or expensive gifts. Family camping trips and meaningful get-togethers were more his style. Along with the annual grandkids fishing trip which was followed with lots of discussion about who caught the biggest and the most.

In addition to his wife and children, Bill is survived by four grandchildren: Cody and Blake Schwartze, Parker Spencer and Aspen Hudson; six sisters: Darlene (Joe) Brandt of Loose Creek, Linda (Johnny) Basket of Yukon, OK, Judy (Norman) Muenks of Loose Creek, Janice “Jennie” Brand of Taos, Joan (Russell) Prenger of Vienna, and Patty (Rick) Hays of Jefferson City; brother-in laws: George (Linda) Iven, Andy (Michelle) of Freeburg, Randy (Donnetta) Iven of Vienna and sister-in-laws: Wanda (Roger) Reinkemeyer, Freeburg and Vicki (Richard) Evans, Hope Mills, North Carolina; along many nephews and nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Richard “Rick”, Clifford “Randy” and Russell “Tut” Kliethermes; Parents-in-laws: Dorothy and John Iven; brother-in-laws: Bob Brand and Stephen Iven and sister-in-law: Becky Libbert.

🕊️ Mr. Don A. Brown, 75, Holts Summit, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born May 5, 1950 a son of the late James Brown and Gladys (Bonnot) (Brown) Upton. He was a 1969 graduate from Jefferson City High School later attending Linn Technical College where he earned an associates degree.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Strobel on June 23, 1972 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman, MO.

Don proudly served our country as a Sgt. in the United States Army from 1969-1972 in Germany, Korea, and a short time in Vietnam. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 1003 and the American Legion Post 5.

Don and Sharon moved to New Mexico in 1978 where he was employed as a lineman with New Mexico Electric. They moved back to Jefferson City where he worked for Ameren Missouri as a lineman until his retirement in 2008.

After retirement, Don and Sharon enjoyed traveling many places in the United States and Europe.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 53 years: Sharon; daughter: Tanya Brown of Kansas City, MO.; son: Aaron Brown of Salt Lake City, UT.; his beloved dog: Muffin; and a grand-dog: Ari; siblings: Joann Laux of Jefferson City, Jane Bickel of Holts Summit, Jack Brown of Holts Summit, Dr. Jerry Brown of Waynesville; Bill (Kathleen) Brown of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents along with one brother: James Brown.

Per Mr. Brown’s wishes, cremation was chosen and his ashes will be spread at a later date. There will be no formal services.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Callaway County Animal Hospital, or Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
