WILLIAM DUKE, D.P.M. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up a Cardinal baseball fan my entire life. I developed a passion for medicine at an early age watching my grandmother deal with the devastating effects of diabetes and also having to deal with my own injuries while playing sports. Some of these injuries required surgical care and thankfully the doctors caring for me did an exceptional job and further sparked my interest in becoming a physician. I attended Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois where I received my undergraduate degree in biological sciences and a minor in chemistry. I was fortunate enough to play college football while at Quincy University and I also met my wife, Amy. Amy is a native of Jefferson City and attended Helias High School. After a year of marriage Amy and I moved to Chicago, Illinois where I attended the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Chicago Medical School. After 4 years of medical school I completed 3 years of residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Chicago. During my final year of residency I served as Chief Resident. While in residency at Mt. Sinai hospital, a level one-trauma center, I received extensive training in foot and ankle trauma including fractures and dislocations. I also developed a deeper understanding and the necessary surgical skills to help patients suffering from congenital and acquired deformities (e.g. bunions, hammertoes, clubfoot) of the foot and ankle for people of all ages, from childbirth through adulthood. Certified-American-Board-Of-Foot-And-Ankle-Surgery-LargeWhile in Chicago two of my four boys were born, Jacob and Connor. We also became guardians of another young man, David. While in medical school I coached football and lacrosse at the middle school and high school levels and my love of sports medicine increased several times over. Treating sprains, strains, heel pain and tendon and ligament injuries became of particular interest because of my involvement in sports as a player and a coach. I knew I wanted to be able to help athletes return to play sooner and with a lessened concern of re-injury. I now could see full circle the view-point of player, coach and physician and my ability to treat any of these conditions was much clearer. In 2006 I started the podiatry department at Jefferson City Medical Group and shortly there after our last child, Samuel, was born. Bringing the count to four boys. Since the inception of JCMG podiatry I have enjoyed lecturing several times in the local community to many different groups including patients, other health care providers and even certified professional medical coders. I currently am an active faculty staff member at JCMG’s surgery center and St. Mary’s hospital. I treat patients at the wound care center at St. Mary’s as well. I am board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Besides being a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus I have the privilege of continuing my community involvement by serving on the Blair Oaks R-II school board and coaching high school football at Blair Oaks. I enjoy coaching my sons’ baseball teams and just spending time being their dad. At JCMG Podiatry our goal is to provide comprehensive conservative and surgical care of the foot and ankle for any age and any activity level. My training as well as Dr. McAleer’s training allows us to provide elite podiatric care to all of our patients.

Before & After | Severe Neglected Adductus

This patient presented with long-standing metatarsus adductus, midfoot arthritis, and digital subluxation. Reconstruction included a 3/2/1 TMT arthrodesis and 1st MTP fusion, along with 2nd toe PIPJ arthrodesis using K-wire fixation to re-establish alignment and structural stability.

Post-op results show a corrected, stable, and functional foot—engineered for pain-free mobility and to help the patient return to a life they can fully enjoy.

Restore stability. Reduce pain. Recover function.

Another challenging revision case. The patient presented with a failed TMT fusion complicated by heterotopic bone formation and fractured hardware. Revision required complete refreshment of the fusion surfaces, restoration of length with a structural graft, and augmentation with autologous biologics. Final construct secured using more robust biplanar fixation to optimize stability and support graft incorporation.

Fix it right the first time.

Persistent pain and motion at the fusion site revealed a nonunion following a prior locking plate construct. The original surgery included extensive metatarsal head resection, creating a large osseous defect and articular surface loss.

A dual-level reconstruction—first TMT and MTP arthrodesis—was performed using structural cadaveric bone graft and autograft to restore length, alignment, and joint integrity.

Final construct: a SpeedMTP™ plate across both fusion levels (TMT + MTP) with an additional SpeedPlate™ at the first TMT joint to provide biplanar stability and compression.

Dynamic fixation, restored forefoot architecture, and reliable union through intelligent stability.

Every time I step into a program like the Centurion Masters Forum at Treace headquarters, I’m reminded how powerful it is when innovation meets experience.
Bringing together leading surgeons from across the country creates something more than a meeting—it becomes a think tank for progress. We challenge assumptions, refine our techniques, and continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in 3D bunion and midfoot correction.

I’m proud to be part of a community that doesn’t just talk about advancing patient outcomes—we’re actively engineering the tools and techniques that make it happen.

The momentum in 3D correction is real, and it’s only accelerating.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This month, we honor the fighters, survivors, and those we’ve lost by raising awareness and promoting early detection.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers, but when caught early, outcomes improve dramatically. Regular screenings, self-exams, and open conversations with your healthcare provider save lives.

Let’s continue to stand together—educating, advocating, and supporting one another. 💗

✨ An amazing time in Las Vegas ✨
Honored to be invited to speak at the International Foot & Ankle Foundation’s Annual Meeting here in Las Vegas.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share and discuss multiple topics with a national audience of surgeons, and to contribute to advancing education and collaboration in our field.

Thank you to IFAF for the invitation and to all the colleagues who made this such a dynamic and rewarding experience.

🚨 Surgical First in Missouri! 🚨
Another milestone for our team: the state’s very first patient-specific instrumentation case — correction of a neglected LisFranc midfoot fracture-dislocation.

Using weight-bearing X-rays and CT imaging, we performed a virtual correction before even stepping into the OR. Custom cut guides were then created to deliver precision cuts with predicted correction—reducing operative time and eliminating steps.

Exciting times ahead as we rewrite the script on surgical correction.

📢 Publication Alert!

Excited to share the intermediate results from our prospective multicenter study on first TMT triplane correction. Honored to be among the contributing authors and research sites helping provide perspective on these procedures.

The data continues to show outstanding outcomes — early return to weight-bearing, high union rates, and excellent patient satisfaction.

Proud to help advance evidence-based solutions for bunion correction and share these impactful results with the foot & ankle community.
