It's the last day of December and what a month it's been! Our team had a blast spending quality time together at our Christmas Party earlier in the month. The celebrations continued with our dental hygienist, Sharetta, and her 1 Year Anniversary followed by Dr. Chris’ birthday! We loved going all out for Ugly Sweater Day and Pajama Day, and really got into the holiday spirit. Last week, we sadly said goodbye & good luck to our dental assistant, Chelsea as she headed back home to Ohio 😢 We will miss her tremendously. We ended the month by welcoming our newest team member and pediatric dentist, Dr. Gia Carrasco!

A big thank you to all our colleagues & patients who sent us Christmas cards and delicious holiday treats to share with the team over these last few weeks. We are SO ready for the new year and all that’s ahead!

Many parents wonder, “what is the point of a first dental visit if my child barely has any teeth?” Believe it or not, a first visit is about more than just a cleaning! It’s about setting your child up for a lifetime of good oral health! Here’s what typically happens during a toddler’s first visit:

🦷 A comprehensive exam of your child’s jaw, gum, and tooth development (usually done on a parent’s lap)

SUPER EXCITING NEWS: We are so happy to welcome our newest pediatric dentist to our team, Dr. Anamaria Carrasco, warmly known to her patients as Dr. Gia!

Dr. Gia grew up in Jersey City, NJ, spending her teenage years driving around and getting to know the Hudson Valley area. She is excited to be practicing at Valley Pediatric Dentistry!

Dr. Gia earned her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and went on to receive both her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Masters in Science and Dental Education at Columbia University. She then completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Gia resides in Manhattan, and, during her free time, she enjoys going for strolls, discovering cozy cafés, and exploring the music scene New York City has to offer. She’s wanted to be a pediatric dentist since she was only four and looks forward to sharing her love for dentistry with the community, helping children and families feel comfortable, confident, and cared for at every visit!
