April is Alcohol Awareness Month - a time to reflect, learn, and support one another 🤗

Alcohol misuse affects individuals, families, and communities in many ways, often in silence. This month is an opportunity to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations about the impact of alcohol on our health and well-being.

Whether it’s choosing to drink responsibly, supporting someone who may be struggling, or simply taking a moment to educate ourselves, every small step matters.

If you or someone you know needs support, you’re not alone. Help is available, and recovery is possible.

Let’s use this month to promote understanding, compassion, and healthier choices. 💙

🚫 Don’t Be Fooled....Some Substances Aren’t What They Seem

Today’s youth are facing a wave of products that are often disguised, flavored, or marketed to look harmless, but the risks are real. From va**ng devices that resemble everyday items to substances promoted as “safe” or “natural,” appearances can be misleading.

⚠️ The truth: many of these products contain addictive chemicals, unknown ingredients, and serious health risks, especially for developing brains and bodies.

đź’ˇ Awareness is power. By staying informed and having open conversations, we can help young people see past the marketing and make safer choices.

Let’s work together to:
✔️ Educate youth about hidden dangers
✔️ Encourage honest, judgment-free conversations
✔️ Support prevention efforts in our schools and communities
✔️ Empower young people to make informed decisions

🧠 What looks harmless can have lasting consequences. Let’s make sure our youth aren’t fooled.

🌿 What to Know About Ayahuasca 🌿

Ayahuasca is a powerful psychedelic that can cause intense hallucinations and emotional experiences. While some promote it as natural or healing, it carries real risks.

⚠️ Possible effects include:
• Nausea and vomiting
• Anxiety or panic
• Increased heart rate and blood pressure
• Confusion or impaired judgment

🚨 It can also lead to serious mental health effects or dangerous reactions—especially when mixed with other substances.

💬 Bottom line: “Natural” doesn’t always mean safe. Stay informed and make healthy choices.

Growth isn't always visible from the outside, but it’s just as important. Take care of your mind as much as you take care of your body. 🌿

Just like a garden, our minds need tending, patience, and a little sunshine. Mental health is health. 🌸✨

🚨 What Parents Need to Know About High-Dose Ni****ne Pouches 🚨

A recent article from the University of Wisconsin Center for To***co Research and Intervention highlights a concerning trend: ni****ne levels in some pouches have increased significantly - reaching up to 30 mg per pouch, far higher than the 3–9 mg levels currently authorized by the FDA.

đź‘€ Why this matters for parents:
• These small, discreet pouches are easy to hide and use
• Higher ni****ne levels can increase the risk of addiction
• Ni****ne can impact teen brain development and attention
• Some products may not be regulated or authorized

Ni****ne pouches are often marketed as “to***co-free,” but they still contain highly addictive ni****ne and are not risk-free - especially for youth.

đź’¬ Start the conversation:
Talk with your kids about what these products are, the risks involved, and how marketing can make them seem harmless when they’re not.

🛑 Bottom line: Just because something is smokeless doesn’t mean it’s safe.

🚨 Assembly Bill 681: Strengthening Impaired Driving Testing 🚨

Impaired driving continues to put lives at risk on our roads. Assembly Bill 681 aims to improve how law enforcement conducts impaired driving testing - helping ensure safer communities for everyone.

This bill focuses on enhancing testing methods, increasing accountability, and supporting officers with better tools to identify impairment accurately. By modernizing these practices, we can better protect families, reduce accidents, and save lives.

Public safety is a shared responsibility. Let’s continue working together to keep our roads safe and hold impaired drivers accountable.

The more we know, the better we can support each other. ❤️

We’re focusing on the science of addiction and overdose, and the power of prevention. Misinformation can be dangerous, but facts can save lives.

Let’s keep the dialogue open, honest, and based on evidence. 📖

The Talk: Sit down with the young people in your life. Don't just tell them "no" - give them the science. Tell them that one pill can be fatal because of how these substances are manufactured.

Education is the ultimate prevention. 🧠✨
