Yesterday the Jesuit High School of New Orleans soccer team spent time engaging with Magnolia clients, and fun was truly had by all! Our clients loved the energy, enthusiasm, and attention the team brought — it made for a joyful and memorable day on campus.

Thank you, Jesuit, for sharing your time, spirit, and kindness with our Magnolia community!

Troy’s sister shared this powerful message:

“For over 10 years, I’ve watched my brother Troy grow—learning job skills, cooking, doing his laundry, and becoming more independent. Magnolia is truly his home, where staff care for him like family. What was once my parents’ biggest fear–who would care for Troy when they were gone–has been replaced with peace of mind knowing he has everything he needs.”

Your gift helps create this kind of peace of mind for families every day.

Our campus is filled with creativity and joy as clients spend time making Christmas crafts, decorating cookies and building festive gingerbread houses. From decorating to laughing with friends, it is a wonderful way to celebrate the season together.

Moments like these remind us how special the holidays are when they’re shared with community, creativity, and connection. 💙

About Magnolia

At Magnolia Community Services, we are leading the way for people with developmental disabilities on many different levels. Founded in 1935 as the Magnolia School, today Magnolia Community Services is a multi-service non-profit providing support for adults with developmental disabilities as they pursue their best life,

We work with individuals to help them achieve their vocational and personal goals and ensure their access to safe, affordable housing and all the wonderful cultural and community resources our region has to offer. In our work, we incorporate best practices and innovative strategies in our daily interactions with the people we support. We continuously research and implement better systems for service delivery so that we remain at the top of our industry. We are able to do this through the combined efforts of our loyal and dedicated employees and the support of our generous donors.

Currently there are five residential homes on campus, a wellness center, twenty three vocational centers, an art studio and gift shop, greenhouse, and multipurpose center. There are also seventeen residential group homes dispersed throughout the community. Additionally, we provide supports to those who choose to live and work in the community through our Supported Living and Supported Employment programs.

We continue to develop facilities and programs, which exceed the requirements, regulations, and laws set forth by the government, so that we may one day achieve our vision, in which all individuals, including those with developmental disabilities, thrive and grow and are recognized for their contributions to society.
