ONE YEAR! It has been one year since our girl rang the bell. Since ringing the bell, she has got to make some lifelong friends with the Louisville City FC team, has started kindergarten and lost her first tooth. We can’t wait to see how she continues to flourish.

Avery has had a BIG week. She had her first day of school, lost her first tooth and went to Holiday World.

Three years ago our lives as we knew it changed. We heard words that no one ever wants to hear, “your child has cancer”. The past few years have been crazy, emotional, trying, and tiring, but even with all of that Avery has continued to show us and everyone else just how much of a star she is by smiling and shining bright. She’s kept dancing, singing, playing, and making sure everyone knows who’s really in charge lol

She is now 10 months out of treatment. She will have follow up appointments for life. She is about to start kindergarten and is ready for all the new experiences that are to come her way.

Thank you to all of our family, friends, and supporters who have been with us throughout this journey and everything still to come. We love and appreciate you all.

It’s Tutu Tuesday! Avery had an appointment today and had to fast for her labs. She had to get an arm draw today and her veins did not want to cooperate, thankfully she only got stuck twice today. Once in her hand and one finger stick due to the first one not getting enough blood for all of her labs.

She was so brave even with getting poked twice today. We saw Luna, got a squishy chick, and started bagging all of the Tutus that have been so graciously donated. We counted today and we are one shy of halfway to our goal of 200! We have collected 99 tutus and 16 capes. Avery will still be collecting them until mid July so we can make sure they are all bagged and ready to donate. Link below if anyone would like to help us make it to her goal of 200. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3IQ9P9OZR68UN?ref_=wl_share

We are still trying to reach our goal of 200 tutus by August to donate to Norton Children's and the Novak center. Avery still has a lot of follow up appointments to go to and we wanted to be able to keep her legacy alive. There are a couple of ways you can help us, we have our Amazon wishlist (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3IQ9P9OZR68UN?ref_=wl_share),

Momo's Creations is selling childhood cancer awareness pens where 40% of each pen will be going towards tutus, if you would like to donate money we have Venmo,Cash app or Zelle, also just sharing our post is an amazing way to help us. Thank you to everyone for the continued support and love.

Help us continue Averys legacy. As many of you have seen between pictures and the recent story, Avery LOVES wearing tutus to her doctors appointments. She wears them so often that the staff started wearing them also and Tutu Tuesday was born. We would love to collect tutus and be able to donate them to the Novak center in hopes that they will bring another child and family a little small moment of joy during their appointments. We have an Amazon list attached to this post if anyone would like to help us with this goal / dream. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3IQ9P9OZR68UN?ref_=wl_share

We hope to be able to do this once a year and donate them around the time she rang the bell (August) and eventually spread out to donating them not only where she had her appointments but also to the children’s hospital and maybe to other children’s hospitals in the future.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support through everything and for helping us continue this tradition.

Avery has loved during all her treatments of wearing tutu’s to her visits to make her feel more confident and comfortable. Over the past 2 1/2 years this has went from a trend to tradition with Avery and the amazing staff of Novak Center for Children’s Health and now Norton Children's! We’re so excited to see this tradition continue on for years to come!💛

With that said Happy Tutu Tuesday to all the brave warriors and survivors out there! 🎗️

Happy Tutu Tuesday from Norton Children’s Cancer Institute!

What started as a small moment of creativity has grown into a beloved tradition at Norton Children's Cancer Institute in the Novak Center for Children’s Health. Five-year-old Avery Money had to swap her dresses for tutus to make chemotherapy treatments easier. She and her mom decided to spread the fun by making a tutu for one of our amazing nurses, Ed Dohn, RN.

From there, Tutu Tuesday was born and it has grown into a weekly celebration for staff and providers!
