Elvin L. “E.L.” Reece, Jr.

IRWINTON - Elvin L. “E.L.” Reece, Jr., 92, of Asbell St., passed away Monday April 6, 2026 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday April 8, 2026 at 11:00AM in the Masonic Cemetery in Irwinton. Rev. Gary Horton will officiate.

Mr. Reece was a life long resident of Wilkinson County, the son of the late Elvin L. Reece, Sr. and Irene Yarbrough Reece. He was the widower of the late Mary Deen Reece. E.L. graduated from Irwinton High School in 1951 and entered the Unites States Navy in 1952. He served during the Korean War and returned to Wilkinson County in 1956. He worked with the Wilkinson County Telephone Company for 13 years and then moved to Engelhard in McIntyre and remained there for 23 years retiring in July of 1993. He was a Funeral Director Assistant with Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in Gordon and Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville. E.L. was a member of the Irwinton Baptist Church where he served in many areas including church treasurer and as a Deacon. He was a member of the Irwinton Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his sons, Elvin (Lisa) Reece and Chad Reece. His grandchildren Elvin L. “Drew” (Molly) Reece, IV, and Hannah Reece. His great grandson Bowman Reece.

The family will receive friends from 10:30AM to 11:00AM before services in the cemetery.

Robertsdale, AL - Alton Patrick “Pat” Floyd, 76, passed away March 29, 2026.

Graveside services will be held 11am Tuesday April 7, 2026 in the Floyd Family Cemetery in Danville Ga, Twiggs County. Harold Reece, Jr. will be officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Robertsdale, AL.

Mr. Floyd was born in Danville, GA to the late Sam Floyd, Sr. and Chloe Floyd. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Sam Floyd, Jr., Felix Floyd, and Sally Arrendale. Pat was a 1972 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Agriculture, and was an Agronomist/salesman for Helena AGRO Services/Helena Chemical Company for 42 years. Pat also served on the Board of Directors of the Robertsdale Livestock Auction and was instrumental in bringing peanut farming to Baldwin County, AL. He was also a cattle farmer for 22 years, and in his spare time enjoyed fox and rabbit hunting and also was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his Wife Angela Deal; Son Jay Patrick Floyd; Brother Jack Floyd, Sister Ruth Arnold; Grandson Baylor Patrick Floyd. Many Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Randolph Kent “Randy” Spires

JEFFERSONVILLE, GA - Randolph Kent Spires (Randy) 52 passed away Sunday March 29th peacefully with his family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Reece Funeral home in Jeffersonville Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will be private.

“Randy” was born in Macon, GA. He was a successful business owner for 25 years of Electric Works and had been living in Twiggs County for 27 years. Randy was a man of his word and a Christian. He loved his family and couldn’t be more proud of his girls. Everything he did in life was for his family.

Son to Larry and Emily Spires, grandson to Joe & Jettie Mea Clements and Jimmy & Addie Ruth Spires. Faithful Husband of 28 years to Christie Spires, and Best Daddy Ever to his two daughters Megan and Alyssa Spires who all loved him to the moon and back.

Rev. Hershel Delanie Standard, 84, passed away March 30, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 2, 2026, at 2pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be held Friday April 3, 2026, at 2pm at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church in Glennville, GA with military honors. Rev. Dwayne Bedingfield will be officiating.

Mr. Standard was born in Glennville, GA to the late Heidt and Beatrice Kennedy Standard. He was preceded in death by his siblings Bennie, Clifton and L.D. Standard. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Danville, GA. He also served as a volunteer chaplain at the Houston Medical Center and the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief. Mr. Standard was a long-time member of Oakland Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA where he served as a deacon and other positions before being ordained as a minister. After ordination, he served as pastor of Taylor Mill Baptist Church in Reynolds and Liberty Baptist Church in McIntyre. He also served as a missionary to Moldova many times. During his time as a minister, he also served as interim pastor for many churches and the Ebenezer Baptist Association Missionary. Mr. Standard was retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant. A decorated member of the Air Force, he worked avionics and as a technical instructor. His last job before retiring was as the avionics manager for the 55th AMS at Strategic Air Command headquarters, Offutt Air Force Base. He loved gardening and was a master gardener.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Frankie DeLoach Standard; daughter Mimi (Foy) Rearden of Jeffersonville; son, Timothy (Karen) Standard of Stockbridge; sisters Alice Jarvis of Glennville and Sharon Darsey of Milledgeville; grandchildren Caroline (Chad) Baker, Brad Rearden, Brandi (Sean) Barden, Brooke (Wiley) McDaniel, Natalie (Caleb) Van Horn, Nathan Standard, Anna (Alex) Kimbrell, and Joey Standard; great grandchildren, Emily, Marie Claire, Chase, Chance, Avery, Chaden, Wiley III, Madelynn, Elly and Lily.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to The Gideons International or the donor’s favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm before the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

MACON – Hazel Vinson Clance, 83, of Hwy 57 Passed away Friday March 20, 2026 in Macon.

Mrs. Clance was born in Gordon, GA the daughter of the late James Leonard Vinson and Agnes Pauline Roberts Vinson. She was the widow of the late Johnnie Lee Clance, and was preceded in death by her brother James Vinson and her sister Lucille Wimberly. Hazel was a homemaker and a member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Stephen Clance. Her furbaby “Brownie”.

ALLENTOWN - William O. “Billy” Greene, 92, of Second St. passed away Thursday March 19, 2026 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday March 24, 2026 at Allentown City Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Alligood and Rev. Billy Wicker will officiate.

Mr. Greene was born in Stephensville, GA the son of the late William P. Greene and Eva Wright Greene. He was preceded in death by his sister Laura Claude Greene. Mr. Billy was a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County and was retired Civil Service with Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of Allentown Methodist Church where he was the church pianist, lending his talent to countless church services, weddings, funerals, and other church activities. Billy was an avid University of Georgia Fan “Go Dawgs”, and could often be seen riding around Allentown on his bicycle.

Survivors include his brother Charles R. “Bobby” (Cherry) Greene. His nephew Chris (Stephanie) Greene. His great nephew Carson Greene.

Donations may be made to the Allentown Methodist Church or to the Allentown City Cemetery, C/O Jimmy Green, 960 Green Loop, Montrose, GA 31065.

Ms. Moore was born in Union Point, GA, the daughter of the late Jessie Thomas Blount and Johnnie Maynard Rogers Ashmore. She was preceded in death by her sister Sheri Jelineck and her brother Michael Blount. Teresa was a Homemaker and a former employee of Wal-Mart for more than 15 years. She was a Baptist.

Miss Haskins was born in Macon, GA. Nicole was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome the moment they met her! She loved to laugh, loved a good time, and had a way of making every moment feel a little lighter. To know her, was to love her. Even if months or years went by without talking, you could pick right back up like no time had passed at all. That’s the kind of soul she was, a genuine, warm, and unforgettable. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents David G. Key, Jr. and Ruby P. Turner and her paternal grandparents James A. Haskins and Jean R. Haskins, and her furbaby Ryder. Nicole was the owner/operator of Ruby Jean’s Cleaning Service.

Survivors include her parents, Wayne and Rinda Haskins. Her fiancé Michael Lowery. Her daughter Elizabeth “Lizzie” Lowery. Her sisters, Christina (Bubba) Fincher and Danielle (Daniel) Haskins. Her nephews, Jeremy Fincher and D.J. Simmons. Her ten furbabies also survive.

William Randall “Smitty” Smith

MACON - Randy “Smitty” Smith, age 65, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on March 10, 2026.

Services will be held at 2:00PM Friday March 13, 2026 at Avondale Baptist Church in Macon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Billy McLean will officiate.

Randy was born on October 20, 1960, in Macon GA to the late June and Otis Smith.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Tracy Smith, and his parents, June and Otis Smith. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Tracy.

Randy was a devoted sports fan who loved cheering on Georgia football, watching NASCAR, and keeping up with baseball. One of his greatest joys was spending time with Layne and Brent, often making friendly bets in Reese’s Cups over who would win the game or race.

Randy will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, his stubbornness, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Brandy (Brent) McDaniel; his beloved grandchild, Layne McDaniel, whom he absolutely adored; his sister, Cindy (Jeff) Evans; his longtime friend, Darlene; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly.

JEFFERSONVILLE - Reverend Charles W. Carter, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday March 12, 2026 in Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Danny Young and Harold Reece Jr. will officiate.

Charles was born in Twiggs County on April 19,1943, to the late Colothree and Louise Carter. After a career in truck driving, he was ordained as a deacon at Southside Baptist Church in 1980 and was ordained as a minister in 1987 at Lambs Chapel.

In 2004 he accepted the call to be the pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Twiggs County where he served 22 years.

He had a genuine love for people and a heart for serving the Lord. Whether he was visiting someone in their home, sitting by a hospital bed, or greeting someone at church, he always took time to listen, encourage, and pray. Many remember his warm smile, kind spirit, and the way he made everyone feel welcome and valued.

As a pastor, he faithfully shepherded his congregation with humility and compassion. His sermons were heartfelt and sincere, and his greatest desire was simply to help others know the Lord and grow in their faith. He believed deeply in caring for his church family and his community, and he lived out that calling every day.

More than anything, he will be remembered for his strong faith, his servant’s heart, and the love he showed to everyone he met. His life left a lasting mark on his family, his church, and the many friends whose lives were brighter because they knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Billie Ann, his sisters Betty Dent, Ethel Shelley and Rachel Spires.

He is survived by his sons and their wives, Robby (Rhonda) Carter of Sumter, South Carolina, Scott (Debra) Carter of Macon, Georgia and Michael (Angie) of Macon, Georgia. Grandchildren Deana (Ryan) Bode, Tyler Carter, Zack (Madi) Carter, Haley Carter, Jordan Carter and Jessica Carter. 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mimbs was born in Macon, GA the so of the late Wallace Mimbs and Thelma Inez Conley Mimbs. He was also preceded in death by his Grandmother Effie Conley, his Nephew Danny Mimbs and his Brother-in-law Chris Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Fordham Mimbs. His son Jason (Melissa) Pruitt. His daughter Jennifer (Brad) White. His sister Rhonda Moore. His brothers Lee Mimbs, Gary (Connie) Mimbs and Russell (Tina) Mimbs. His four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
