Update:

There has been an unforeseen delay in me starting at Walgreens as most of you already know. They are very close to getting all of the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed and I will be there very soon. If my customers can hang tight just a little longer, I will be there for/with you!

I will update as soon as I know the day I will be there.

It’s a sad day in the neighborhood as it is our last one at Jay’s Pharmacy. 💔 We are family, so this hurts deeply. Please keep us all in your prayers as we go through this transition.

It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of Jay’s Pharmacy as of July 18th, 2024. Walgreens in Jenkins will be acquiring us and once we close, your files will go WITH ME to that location. We will be at our current location until then to take care of any needs you have.

The light at the end of this tunnel is that I will be going to Walgreens in Jenkins to work and our employees have the same option. I made certain to take care of them through this transition. I care deeply for my employees, customers and this community and want to continue taking care of your medication needs and ask that you follow me there. I will give you the same hometown pharmacy experience there that we have provided you at Jay’s (Boggs) Pharmacy.

We truly have the best customers and employees and thanks to you all, business has been better than ever. Unfortunately, insurance contracts and reimbursements are not. We want to explain a little more what has lead to this decision as it was not an easy one. Entities outside of our control determine the cost of the drug and what we will be reimbursed for it. Along with many other fees we are charged, we often take a loss, break even or are being reimbursed at a very low rate. We tried to hang on as long as we could, but it has gotten to the point it is no longer sustainable for us. As I said earlier, this was not an easy decision because this was a legacy I wanted to leave to my children. Closing was never in my plans.

A sincere thank you to our customers for allowing us to take care of you and your families, who also became an extended part of our family through the years. We want to make this transition as easy as possible on everyone, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.

We apologize for the extreme inconvenience that some of our customers are experiencing with their insurance. The problem is with an electronic signature on a contract that somehow did not transmit back in August and is just now being brought to our attention. We have taken all steps to correct this issue and have been working hard to speed this process up. The issue should be resolved soon.

Again, we sincerely apologize and to those that have had to go elsewhere to pick up their medications, we hope to earn your business back as soon as this is resolved. We truly appreciate each and every one of our customers for supporting our small business and because of you, we are able to pour back into our community and school. Thank you for baring with us.
