Out during the Thanksgiving Holiday playing Bingo at Dresher Hill Rehab, delivered Homemade cream cheese pound cake to Atria of Layfette Hill. Finished the weekend off delivering a Sweet Potato Pie to one of my clients. Doing the two things I enjoy putting smiles on Seniors faces and baking my some of my favorite treats. Happy Holidays.

šŸ’™ Helpful Tips for Alzheimer’s Caregivers šŸ’™

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s can be both meaningful and challenging. Here are a few simple ways to make the journey a little easier — for them and for you:

Keep a Routine
A consistent daily schedule helps reduce confusion and anxiety. Try to keep mealtimes, activities, and bedtime around the same time each day.

Use Simple Communication
Speak slowly, use short sentences, and maintain eye contact. Gentle reminders and patience go a long way.

Incorporate Music and Memories
Familiar songs and photos can bring comfort, spark joy, and encourage meaningful moments together.

Create a Safe Environment
Reduce clutter, label important items, and make sure walkways are clear. Small changes can prevent big accidents.

Take Care of Yourself Too
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take breaks, ask for help, and connect with local support groups. šŸ’•

šŸ’— You’re not alone. Whether you’re just starting this journey or have been caring for years, know that support and resources are available.

At A Place At Home – Glenside, we’re here to help families navigate dementia care with compassion and understanding.
