- Associated Complaints: Anxiety disorder, Eczema (atopic dermatitis), Hypertension, Hypercholesterolemia, Dysuria, Low back pain, and Shoulder tightness

Chronic Constipation, Chronic Cervicalgia, Intermittent Lumbago – KOSA Acupuncture Testimonial

- Initial visit: November 25, 2025
- Chief Complaint: Chronic constipation – Intermittent constipation for over 30 years, severe constipation in the recent 2 years
- Associated Symptoms: Chronic cervicalgia, Intermittent lumbago
- Current Medication: Polyethylene glycol 3350 (Miralax®)
- Past Medical History: Past Medical History: A surgical repair was performed for pelvic organ prolapse, including cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse. Physical therapy yielded only minimal clinical improvement.
- Initial Visit Findings, November 25, 2025: Chief complaint was chronic constipation. No active complaints regarding cervicalgia or lumbago.
- Second Visit: Complete resolution of constipation for three days following initial treatment. Immediate resolution of cervicalgia during treatment. Polyethylene glycol 3350 (Miralax®) may cause colonic motility impairment with long-term use; therefore, its use should be minimized, and a vegan diet is recommended concurrently.
- Third Visit: Despite complete discontinuation of polyethylene glycol 3350 (Miralax®) following the second treatment session, the patient reports daily bowel movements. Initial defecation requires mild straining, after which stool consistency becomes very loose. Chronic cervicalgia-associated muscle knots and pain, and intermittent lumbago have completely resolved. The patient is experiencing good sleep quality. The patient was informed that non-adherence to a strict vegetarian diet may diminish the therapeutic effect.
