I remember when I first started Simply Motherhood. I loved helping all the new mothers on their breastfeeding journey. I know motherhood isn’t simple but my intention was always to keep it simple. You don’t have to overcomplicate it. Babies just need YOU!

I am still here if you need help getting breastfeeding started, need a refresher or have some ongoing issues you need help addressing. I am here to help you on your journey.

Call to schedule your appointment.

Feels so good to be back. I feel fortunate to be able to help new and experienced mothers get a good start on breastfeeding.

My only advice is give yourself grace and seek help as early on as possible. Even if you feel everything is going well I go over so much more and make sure all your questions are answered.

After 2022 dealt me some surprises, I’m happy to announce I’m back working in the Jericho office at Next Generation Pediatrics. I continue to offer in-office breastfeeding consultations. I accept most major insurance.

A simple reminder as you bring your newborn home.
1-new babies feed frequently, about 8-12
times per day is considered normal. This does not last forever.
2-breastfeeding frequently and effectively will bring in and maximize your milk supply
3-effective breastfeeding results in a calm and satiated baby
4-pain is not normal so PLEASE get help from an IBCLC the sooner the better. This is a reliable sign of poor latch and will result in ineffective feedings
5-If you have concerns trust yourself and seek expert advice. Contact an IBCLC (international board certified lactation consultant)

This time is can be very overwhelming and confusing. Give yourself time to get to know YOUR baby. Eat, sleep, rest and repeat goes for you and baby in the first 6-8 weeks postpartum.

I have been enjoying my time in Melville doing Primary Care Pediatrics and Breastfeeding Medicine but more is changing…again.
ProHealth is now Optum and I’m still part of the organization. I’m happy to announce I will now be working in the Jericho office at Next Generation Pediatrics. I will continue to do primary pediatrics and breastfeeding medicine. I accept most major insurance.

Super excited to announce that I'm getting back to my Primary Pediatric roots. I'll be seeing patients in Melville, NY. Seeing patients ranging from newborn to adolescents. I have not forgotten about my new moms and babies. I will continue to offer breastfeeding consults but out of the Melville location. Kudos to ProHEALTH we now have breastfeeding consultations in 2 locations.

This!!!

What if we saw children sleeping on us as a positive? What if we viewed the babies who refuse to go down to nap as a sign that we need to slow down?

What if we changed our perceptions on contact naps, and instead viewed them as an opportunity to relax?

Baby has just fallen asleep on me. I spend a few minutes browsing Facebook and then, my mind wonders towards the dishes piling up in the sink. The pile of laundry stacked up in the bathroom. The dust that has settled on the tv. I start to feel guilty. I start thinking about work that could be done. Or food that needs to be cooked. I try to put baby down, but no way. Baby is having NONE of it.

But what if, just say, WHAT IF this is how it is SUPPOSED to be? Alright yes, we know that evolutionary babies are designed to want to be close to their mothers, but what if that is also meant to work out for the mother to rest too. It’s meant to be for OUR benefit.
To sit back for just a moment, and forget about everything else going on in life.
To take in the beauty of our children, and REST.

Rest our minds.
And rest our bodies.

Childbirth has put our bodies under some serious stress. And there are always a million things that need to be done before the day is over. Perhaps our babies and children needing us to be still with them is natures way of telling us to slow down for just a moment.

Rest mama.
Take the opportunity ❤️

Yes this is how it feels like. LOL
