The goal isn't just to reduce your pain: it's to help you return to the life you want to live. Physical therapy addresses the whole person, not just the painful area. Consider what PT could do for you!

Thank you once again to our Ward A Candidates who came in to the clinic and answered our healthcare related questions from their constituents!

Brandi Warren, Pam Johnson and Denise Ridley graciously gave their time and answered our three health care related questions as follows: click the respective timestamp links for their specific responses:

Question 1 Access to Healthcare & Equity
Healthcare access continues to be a challenge for many in Ward A: especially seniors, people with disabilities, and families who depend on local clinics or community programs. What steps will you take to improve access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services for all residents in our ward?

Question 2 Community Health & Use of Public Spaces (Constituent Question)
One of our Ward A residents shared that while the Country Village Park playground was recently refurbished, there’s still a lot of unused and neglected space nearby, like the old tennis court area and the large concrete lot behind the playground. They ask: ‘What policies or initiatives do you think could help Ward A make better use of these open spaces to support recreation, fitness, and overall community health?

Question 3 Public Safety, Parking, and Mobility (Constituent Question)
Another resident from Crossgate Street mentioned challenges with parking access — where some residents seem to treat the street as personal parking — and uneven pavement, which makes walking difficult and unsafe, especially for seniors or those with mobility issues. From your perspective, what equitable and practical solutions do you propose to improve parking access and pedestrian safety for all Ward A residents?

Bonus Question 4 and then Closing Statement: What specific steps would the candidate take to make local school and youth programs more equitable across neighborhoods?

Your chronic pain treatment should be as unique as you are. Cookie-cutter approaches rarely work. That's why PT starts with thorough evaluation of YOUR movement patterns, strength, and daily activities to create a plan that actually addresses your specific needs: our DPTs and PTAs are ready to serve you!

Thank you to Denise Ridley for visiting our clinic and taking the time to discuss health care topics with members of the Ward A community. We’ve interviewed all of our scheduled all Ward A candidates to hear their perspectives on these issues.

We’ll share a video on Monday compiling their responses so Ward A voters can learn more about each candidate and make informed decisions for Election Day on November 4th!

As we close National PT Month, we celebrate the resilience, progress, and stories that remind us why we do what we do, every day. The journeys of healing and transformation continue to inspire us all year long.

The strength and determination of our patients fuel our passion for care. Their journeys remind us of the power of physical therapy—and we’re proud to share them with you.

“I’ll never forget an older adult who could barely walk when they first began therapy. Step by step, they built strength and endurance, and eventually, they were able to go on a hike at the Redwood Skywalk. Seeing them out there on the trail, celebrating their own abilities, was such a joyful moment.”

Huge thanks to Pam Johnson for Jersey City for stopping by our clinic and taking the time to answer health care questions from our Ward A community!

Once we’ve had a chance to speak with all of our scheduled Ward A candidate interviews next week, we’ll put together a video featuring everyone’s responses, so our Ward A residents can hear directly from them and decide who best represents your concerns. Stay tuned!

Our patients’ progress tells the real story of physical therapy: resilience, growth, and meaningful change. We’re proud to highlight the journeys that continue to inspire us.

"Our patient came in with a flare-up of pain radiating down the arm after an unintentionally intense gym session. They wondered if their symptoms could be managed, and if they would ever be active again. Through manual therapy and guided movement, we helped them regain control of their symptoms and discovered that long-distance running was a non-provocative activity they could also enjoy.

Many years later, that same patient has completed about 47 of 50 marathons across the United States (and will get them all!) , and is just as fit and active as ever!"

Behind every success in physical therapy is a story of courage and growth. We’re privileged to share some of the remarkable journeys that continue to inspire our team.

“I’ve seen the difference this clinic makes. One patient with a stiff knee replacement wasn’t moving much at all, but after transferring here, she made such progress that she was discharged from PT—now driving again and doing the things she loves. Another patient who once walked so slowly and unsteadily that balance was a major concern is now walking with ease and confidence—darting across busy Jersey City crosswalks without hesitation. The transformation was remarkable.”

Thanks to for coming to our clinic and answering some of our health care related questions from our Ward A community! After we get all the Ward A candidates scheduled to give their thoughts on our questions, we will compile all of their responses into one video so folks can learn more about the candidates and discern who best represents their concerns.

Every day, we see the power of resilience and recovery. These stories of transformation through physical therapy inspire us and reflect the heart of our work.

“I feel so proud of the impact our pelvic health program has had. Patients often tell us how meaningful it is to regain bladder control and manage their pelvic pain: whether that means being able to drive, focus at work, or return to intimacy without constant worry. One patient remembered us saying that while bladder incontinence is common, it is not a normal part of aging. She said she’s grateful that our clinic helped her embrace that truth and get her life back.”
