This week, Trauma Patient Navigator Lashawn Overton and Injury Prevention/HVIP Manager Iesha Suber met with the Jersey City Police Department’s Training Bureau to share an overview of Project HUDSON and the trauma-informed services offered through Jersey City Medical Center’s Trauma Center. The session included a group of officers who engaged in learning about hospital-based violence intervention, available community resources, and the supports we provide to victims of interpersonal violence. We look forward to continuing this effort as we work to expand awareness, strengthen collaboration with law enforcement, and remain a trusted resource for those impacted by violence in our community.

Dr. Rebecca Yang, Director of Breast Surgery at Jersey City Medical Center, was recently featured in The Hoboken Girl for her expert guidance on early detection and the role of 3D mammography in finding breast cancer at its earliest stages. In the article, she outlines how updated screening recommendations and advanced imaging technology can improve accuracy and support timely diagnosis. At JCMC, patients have access to comprehensive breast imaging, including 3D mammography/tomosynthesis, and a multidisciplinary breast care team that guides screening, evaluation, and follow-up. We’re proud to see Dr. Yang’s leadership highlighted in a resource that encourages our community to stay informed and proactive about their breast health.
