It is with great sadness that I write to inform everyone that Progressive Solutions Counseling Center, LLC, (PSCC) will be closing its doors on March 31, 2015. PSCC has suffered an insurmountable loss with Nick’s passing. Nick and I created PSCC to provide a different kind of future for mental health and substance abuse treatment and unfortunately without my partner by my side, moving forward does not seem possible. The decision to close has not been an easy one, and we are truly saddened by this loss.

Wonderful article explaining schizophrenia and why most treatment doesn't work. However, "tuning out distractions" only works with very motivated clients and intellect also seems to have a big effect.

Drugs can tamp down the hallucinations and delusions associated with schizophrenia, but at a cost. A newer approach to treatment aims to teach people to tune out the distractions instead.
