— Jessica Harrelson

As the seasons change and the world begins to bloom again, spring reminds us that renewal and hope are always possible. Even after the coldest winters, life returns with warmth, color, and light.

For those who are grieving, this season can also be a quiet reminder that love and memories continue to grow in our hearts.

From all of us, we wish you a peaceful and hopeful spring season. 🌼

Sometimes the most powerful words are the simplest ones: “I love you.”

When someone is grieving, they don’t always need perfect advice or carefully chosen phrases. They need reassurance. They need to know they’re not alone.

Reminding a friend or family member that you love them can bring comfort in ways you may never fully see. In seasons of loss, love becomes an anchor.

If you or someone you care about is walking through grief, please know we are here to listen, to guide, and to support you every step of the way.

Melvin L. Hauser, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Melvin L. Hauser Jr., known to his family and friends as Buddy. Melvin passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 in Jersey Shore Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on August 5, 1950 in Jersey Shore to the late Melvin Hauser Sr. and the late Victoria Homler Hauser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Janet Barnhart and Kathy Decker, and a brother in law, Clair Myers.

Before retiring from his construction business, he loved spending his spare time with friends and family and out hunting and fishing. The only thing that surpassed his love of hunting and fishing was the love he had for his family and friends.

After retirement, he spent as much time as he could with his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, mowing his grass to the utmost perfection, and watching his favorite TV show, Yellowstone.

He is survived by his sister Kimberly Myers and the love of his life, his wife Kathryn (Kitty) Kline, his 5 children: Machele Flook (Mike) of English Center, Tina Thomas (Steve) of Jersey Shore, Justin Hauser (Amy) of Wellsboro, Brooke Younkin (Jeremy) of English Center, and Melvin (Peeper) Hauser III of English Center, 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren, along with many other family and friends who will miss him immensely.

After his cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at the family’s convenience, and the weather warms up. You all know Buddy…..He loved having his picnics.

Unfortunately for someone else, he is passing the torch and bragging rights on for someone else to step up and burn that chicken. (We all think he burnt it on purpose because he didn’t even like chicken, but insisted on having it at every picnic.)

As we mourn the loss of Buddy, we are celebrating the love, humor, kindness, and the long drawn out hunting stories that were an essence of his life. “Those we love don’t go away; They walk beside us every day.”
