Did you know…
FFA wasn’t always called FFA? It started in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America and now represents way more than just farming, from biotechnology to ag communications.
FFA was founded in 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri, to prepare students for careers in agriculture and leadership.
FFA has more than one million members across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The blue corduroy jacket is standardized nationwide. Each member’s jacket includes only their name, chapter, and office, if applicable.
FFA is not just for students who want to farm. Members explore careers in animal science, plant systems, biotechnology, agricultural mechanics, natural resources, communications, and more.
The FFA motto outlines a progression of growth:
Learning to Do. Doing to Learn. Earning to Live. Living to Serve.
Members earn degrees that reflect achievement, from the Discovery Degree to the American FFA Degree.
