One way we work to accomplish this task is by promoting Vehicle Safety Recalls Week March 2-8, 2026, and encouraging drivers to check their vehicles for open safety recalls. To do this, you can use the free, user-friendly Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Look-Up Tool, located at NHTSA.gov/recalls to check for open safety recalls on your vehicles or automotive equipment.
