What an incredible night.

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and community, the 21st Annual Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation Dinner & Auction was a record-breaking success.

Together, we raised $30,000 - the highest amount this event has seen.

These funds will go directly toward the purchase of a new C-arm imaging device for the Blue Mountain Hospital Radiology Department. While our overall goal for this equipment is $160,000 and we are not there yet, this event has brought us significantly closer thanks to your incredible support.

To everyone who sponsored, attended, bid, volunteered, and supported the event, thank you!

We are proud of what our community can accomplish together.

Recent measles cases have been reported in the Boise, Idaho area. In addition, measles cases were confirmed in Oregon in January, including Linn and Clackamas counties.

Measles is highly contagious and spreads easily through the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or even breathes. The virus can remain in the air for up to two hours after someone leaves a room.

Symptoms often start with fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes, followed by a blotchy red rash that usually begins on the face and spreads downward.
If you think you’ve been exposed or have measles-like symptoms, PLEASE CALL AHEAD before seeking medical care so precautions can be taken.

Influenza A is currently circulating in our community. Influenza A is a contagious respiratory illness that can cause symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, headache, and sometimes vomiting or diarrhea.

To help reduce the spread, we encourage everyone to take the following precautions:

-Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer
-Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow
-If you are having respiratory symptoms it is recommended to wear a mask in highly populated areas.
-Avoid close contact with others if you are feeling unwell
-Stay home if you have flu-like symptoms until you are fever-free for 24-hours without the use of medication

Influenza A is a virus and usually resolves its own. It is important to stay well hydrated and get plenty of rest. Over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be used to help alleviate symptoms such as fever, body aches, and discomfort. Please use all medications as directed.
If you experience symptoms that are severe, persistent, or worsening, please seek medical advice from a healthcare provider.

Thank you for helping keep our community healthy and safe.

Blue Mountain Hospital is a full service hospital that was originally built in 1949 in Prairie City. The hospital was then rebuilt in 1960 in John Day. In May of 2001 ground was broken for the 7 million dollar replacement facility that was completed in August 2003. Blue Mountain Hospital has been designated a critical access hospital and is licensed for 25 beds. The Medical Center Clinics are housed within the facility and consist of a Family Practice Rural Health Clinic and a General Surgery Clinic.
