Cold weather can tighten blood vessels and make it harder for your heart to circulate blood.
Hydration, movement, and mindful habits can make a real difference:

💧 Drink water throughout the day — indoor heat can dehydrate you
🚶 Stay active indoors — long sitting increases stiffness and blood pressure
🧂 Watch the salt — winter comfort foods can spike pressure and fluid retention
😴 Protect your sleep — poor rest elevates stress hormones and heart strain

Small choices help keep circulation steady and blood pressure controlled.
Your heart doesn’t take a season off — support it every day. 💙

📣 Meet Amy D, part of our Diagnostic Pre-Authorization team at Karing Hearts Cardiology.
With nearly two years at Karing Hearts, Amy plays an important behind-the-scenes role in helping ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care. What she values most are the relationships she’s built along the way — coworkers she now considers family.

Having previously lived in Portugal, Amy brings a unique perspective to our team and a steady, thoughtful approach to everything she does.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and can often be found sharing a meal at Texas Roadhouse, one of her favorite local spots.
We’re grateful for the dedication and care Amy brings to our patients and our team every day. ❤️

On Saturday, December 13, our team came together for Karing Hearts Cardiology’s 14th Annual Christmas Party at the Carnegie Hotel.

Moments like these matter. They give us space to connect, reflect, and appreciate the people behind the care — the ones who support our patients and one another every day.

We’re grateful for our team, the culture we share, and the opportunity to celebrate together. Thank you to the Carnegie Hotel for hosting and to Patrick Redwine for keeping the night going.

❄️ Cold temperatures make your heart work harder — especially if you have high blood pressure or an existing heart condition.
A few simple steps can help protect your heart this season:
• Layer up before going outside

• Warm up before any outdoor activity

• Take breaks when shoveling or doing strenuous tasks

• Don’t ignore chest pressure, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue
Your heart works overtime in winter. Take care of it. 💙

❤️ It’s Who We Are Wednesday!!!

📢Meet Eliza Currence, Heart Care Coordinator at Karing Hearts Cardiology.

For almost two years, Eliza has helped support our patients’ care with consistency, clarity, and genuine compassion.
She values the strong relationships she’s built with both patients and colleagues — something that makes her role especially meaningful.
Outside of work, Eliza enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and visiting her favorite local spot, Caballo De Oro in Morristown (especially for their hot salsa).
We appreciate the dedication and steadiness Eliza brings to our team.♥️

💙 Gratitude & Heart Health

Gratitude isn’t just good for the soul — it’s good for the heart.
Studies show that practicing gratitude can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, improve sleep, and support healthier habits over time.

At Karing Hearts Cardiology and the KHC Heart & Vascular Center, we see every day how emotional wellbeing and heart health go hand in hand.

This week, try a simple gratitude practice:
• Notice one thing that went right today
• Thank someone who made your day easier
• Write down a moment you want to remember

Small reflections create meaningful change — for your heart and your life. 💙
