Due to the federal government shutdown, benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP) will not be delivered on schedule for November 2025. This means TDHS cannot distribute November SNAP benefits to customers.
Updates on this situation are ongoing. As we have more information, we will share updates on our website and socials. Here are some details Tennesseans should know:

➕October benefits for SNAP were delivered. If you are a current SNAP recipient and have benefits on your EBT card, you can still use these benefits. When using benefits, remember: new benefits will not be delivered until the federal shutdown ends or Congress reaches a new agreement.

➕TDHS will continue to accept and process new SNAP applications, but new benefits will not be delivered until the shutdown ends or Congress reaches an agreement.

🔗There are many unknowns. As TDHS receives new information, we will share the latest details on our website at https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/federal-shutdown.html.

🔗Our Online Resource Library has links to help Tennesseans find food and other basic necessities. To locate resources in your area, visit:
https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/information-and-resources/tdhs-resource-library.html.

TDHS is here to strengthen Tennesseans. We recognize this is a serious issue for many working families and Tennesseans who depend on nutrition assistance to be well, feed their children, excel at their job, or focus on building skills and education to move forward.
