At Rainbow Community Care, we are lucky to have team members who are deeply invested in the well-being of our neighbors. Congratulations to our Community Resource Liaison, Britanie Peaslee, who, along with her team at the Drug Free Coalition, accepted the Community Excellence Award from the Jefferson County Chiefs’ and Sheriff’s Association on Wednesday!

Her community commitment didn't stop there. Later that night, Britanie followed up the honor by participating in her 7th annual Point-in-Time (PIT) count, helping to ensure that unsheltered individuals in our community are seen and supported throughout Jefferson County.

Endings and losses are an inevitable part of life. While we often associate grieving with death, it is important to grieve every loss we experience, even if it feels like a "good" loss.

In this month’s Conversations in Grief blog, Rainbow Bereavement Coordinator & Chaplain Laura Wessels explores more on the losses we experience other than death and how best to grieve for them. https://rainbowcommunitycare.org/post/Conversations-in-Grief-Blog-All-Our-Losses-All-Our-Griefs

We often expect grief to follow a schedule, but the reality is much more complex—it’s a non-linear journey of highs, lows, and unexpected layers. At Rainbow Community Care, we know that while you can’t "fix" the pain of loss, you don't have to carry it in silence.

In just two weeks, join our Bereavement team for Broken Pots. This is a hands-on workshop where we use the physical act of breaking and rebuilding to reflect on our own stories. It’s a powerful way to put your feelings into motion and find a new perspective among the pieces.

Event Details:

🗓 Date: Saturday, February 7

🕙 Time: 10 a.m. – Noon

🏠 Location: Rainbow Hospice Care Inpatient Center (Community Room)

This event is free and open to the community.

📞 Reserve Your Spot: We are two weeks out and space is limited! Please call (920) 674-6255 to register.

If you’ve visited our Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center (IPC) on a Thursday, you’ve likely been greeted by the warm smile of Jane Ingersoll. While she handles the reception desk with vibrant energy and ease, she actually just celebrated her 96th birthday last week! (And no, that isn’t a typo!)

Jane has been a vital part of the Rainbow family since 2019, moving from quilting to the front lines because she wanted to be "more involved." This April, she’ll celebrate 7 years of service with us.

We are so lucky to have her spirit, her wit, and her dedication at the heart of our Thursdays. Happy Birthday, Jane! 🎈🎂
