Rainbow Palliative Care is growing fast, and we’re looking for a compassionate Medical Assistant to join us in making a real difference.

This isn't your typical clinic job. As part of our community-based palliative care team, you’ll be a vital bridge for patients and families navigating serious illness. You’ll handle everything from coordinating complex care and managing clinical data to being that supportive voice on the phone when our patients need it most.

Why you’ll love it here:
- Mission-driven work - help improve quality of life for our neighbors during their most delicate moments.
- A true team environment - Work closely with nurse practitioners, social workers, and nurse navigators in a culture that truly values your input.
- Growth & impact - be a key player in a program that’s expanding to meet our community's needs.

What we’re looking for:
If you have your MA certification, a heart for service, and love staying organized in a fast-paced clinical setting, we want to meet you!

Don't call her Marlene. At 89, M**f Gentz isn’t just "getting by"—she’s driving herself to the store, cracking jokes, and living life entirely on her own terms. But behind her fierce independence is a secret weapon: a specialized support system that many people mistake for end-of-life care.

Read how M**f is using Rainbow Palliative Care to stay out of the ER and in her favorite "music room."

Rainbow Community Care is pleased to announce that three patient stories written by Kenyon Kemnitz, our Marketing Communications Manager, have been named winners in the 2025 Milwaukee Press Club Awards for Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism Competition!

Since joining Rainbow in 2019, Kemnitz has evolved into one of the nation’s most prolific writers of human-interest stories in the aging, serious illness, and loss space, having authored 102 accounts highlighting the experiences of local patients and families.

These include stories about Watertown's Debbie Faubel and Steve Hoppe, and Fort Atkinson's Lou Yanz.

We often recommend the books, websites, and webinars of grief experts to support the bereaved. But the real experts are those in the trenches—experiencing profound pain and learning how to live without their loved ones. In this month’s Conversations in Grief blog, Counselor and Chaplain Laura Wessels honors these individuals and validates the messy, honest reality of their journey, reminding us that there is no 'wrong' way to grieve.

Our team had a fantastic afternoon connecting with neighbors at the inaugural Southern Jefferson County Senior Fair in Fort Atkinson.

Director of Business Development Mike Bernhagen and Clinical Facility Liaison Dana Lybeck were on hand Wednesday, March 18th, at the Country Inn & Suites to discuss how we can provide support through every stage of life’s journey. It was truly inspiring to see so many neighbors coming together to learn about healthy, supported aging—it was a fantastic day of education and community connection.

A big thank you to the organizers at Alden Estates, Reena Senior Living, and The View Communities for putting together such a vital resource for our community. We’re proud to be a part of a community that prioritizes the care and well-being of our seniors! 🤝

March is National Social Work Month, and we are taking this week to honor the incredible team of social workers at Rainbow Community Care.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated, caring, and highly skilled group of professionals. They truly have a heart for providing hospice, palliative, and guided care, ensuring that your loved ones receive the emotional and practical support they need during life’s most challenging moments.

Did you know?
According to the latest projections, the overall employment of social workers is expected to grow 7% through 2033, continuing to outpace the average for all occupations. This growth highlights just how essential these professionals are to the health and well-being of our society.

We are deeply thankful for our social workers’ tireless service to our patients, their families, and our entire community every single day.

Please join us in celebrating our Rainbow social work team!

Big cheers to Shauna Lambrecht and Joani Robertson for representing Rainbow Community Care at this past Saturday’s Watertown Jig Jog! 🏃‍♀️

Despite the less-than-perfect weather, these two stayed focused on their wellness goals. A special shout-out to Joani for completing her very first 5K! 🏅

At Rainbow, we believe that caring for our own mind, body, and spirit is the best way to prepare us to care for others. Thank you, Shauna and Joani, for being such an inspiration to the team!

A huge "Thank You" to our neighbors at Midwest Electric, LLC.! ❄️🚛

This morning, heavy snow made the road to our Inpatient Center (IPC) completely impassible. Without being asked, the team at Midwest Electric stepped up and plowed the way to our building while they were out clearing their own lot.

When we reached out to thank them, their leadership simply said they wanted to make sure our staff could get into the building to care for our patients.

We are so incredibly grateful for local partners who look out for us. Thank you, Midwest Electric, for clearing the path so our care can continue uninterrupted!
