In yogic teachings, being at peace with oneself can be described as achieving a state of "Sthiti" or steadiness in the mind. This refers to a state of inner calmness, stability, and equilibrium, where the mind is no longer tossed about by turbulent thoughts and emotions.
In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali describes the state of yoga as "Chitta Vritti Nirodha," or the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind. This state of inner peace is characterized by a sense of clarity, tranquility, and connection to one's true nature.
When we are at peace with ourselves, we experience a sense of "Atma-Sakshikarana," or self-realization, where we see ourselves as we truly are, beyond the external layers of identity and conditioning.
In this state, the yogic concept of "Ahimsa" or non-violence towards oneself and others becomes a natural expression of our being. We cultivate a sense of compassion, kindness, and acceptance towards ourselves and others, allowing us to live in greater harmony with the world around us.
