April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to recognize and strengthen ongoing prevention efforts as we continue to support families and children.

This year’s theme is: , and there are many ways you can help us in our mission of raising awareness during Child Abuse Prevention Month and beyond.

You can:
• Join DCF and Kansas Children's Service League for Wear Blue Day and a Pinwheel Planting event at the Statehouse in Topeka on April 10.
• Plant your own pinwheel garden (the official symbol of child abuse prevention) with friends or family.
• Share prevention resources, like 1-800-CHILDREN, a free parenting helpline and resource directory. Call 1-800-CHILDREN (1-800-244-5373) or visit https://1800childrenks.org/.

"Willow" the Aussie Doodle of Rein in "HOPE" LLC loves her therapy kids and adults!!
She loves ALL that walk in our office!!
She has been training since December 31, 2025 with a trainer "Buchman's Best" out of Garden City, KS. Willow knows the commands of "Sit & hand command; Down & the hand command; Stay and she has stayed sitting in one place for 2minutes at one time. She knows Target aka.. "Come" by a hand command!! The children and adults who walk in to our therapy office have also been trained with the commands!! This has increased several of the children's self-esteems and has helped build trust! Willow follows the directions from the kids & adults. Check out Buchman's Best Dog Training in Garden City, KS! Whitney Buchman has been coming to us in our Johnson and Ulysses Office!!

☀️The 2026 SUN Bucks application is open! SUN Bucks provides a one-time $120 benefit per eligible child to help families pay for groceries during the summer months.

Some children are automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks. Those families should receive a letter soon confirming their enrollment.

If you do not receive an enrollment letter in the next few weeks and believe your child may be eligible based on the guidelines, you will need to apply. Applications for summer 2026 must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2026.

SUN Bucks 2026 benefits should be distributed this summer. We’ll share updates about the distribution timeline as details become available.

NEW CHANGES!!

Some Updates Here:

Starting January 21, 2026 and January 22, 2026, I will be in my Ulysses Office two days a week from 9am to 3pm. 3pm on those days will be the last appointment of the day! I will be in Ulysses on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
I am making these changes to help accommodate schedules for all of my clients!

On Friday, January 23, 2026; I will be back in my Johnson Office from 8am to 5pm.
I will be in my Johnson Office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8am to 5pm!
This is to help accommodate other schedules.
