Last week, something truly special happened at Tri-County Community Action Agency in Westerly.

Thanks to an incredible partnership with Valenti Subaru and Operation Warm, 132 children in our community received brand-new shoes and socks, gifts that represent so much more than footwear.

For many of the families we serve, every dollar goes toward essentials like rent, food, utilities, and transportation. When budgets are stretched thin, something as basic as properly fitting shoes can become a difficult expense. But we know that new shoes mean more than comfort.

They mean walking into school with confidence.
They mean running and playing without worry.
They mean warmth, dignity, and the simple joy of having something that is truly your own.

Valenti Subaru stepped forward as our community donor and volunteer leader, bringing not only generosity, but heart. Their team helped create a welcoming, joyful atmosphere where children felt celebrated and cared for. Operation Warm ensured every child received high-quality shoes and socks that fit just right, making the day both meaningful and seamless.

Moments like this remind us what is possible when local businesses and community organizations come together with a shared purpose: to lift up children and families right here in Westerly.

To Valenti Subaru and Operation Warm, thank you for helping our children step forward with confidence.

Because when we invest in our children, we strengthen our entire community. ❤️👟
