Rolled or sprained ankles are one of the most common injuries we see, and they’re also one of the most commonly under-treated.

After an ankle injury, swelling may go down and day-to-day walking may feel manageable, but that doesn’t always mean the ankle has fully recovered. Joint motion can remain restricted, surrounding muscles and connective tissue can stay irritated, and stability can be compromised — all of which increase the risk of lingering pain or repeat injuries.

Care at Active Wellness may include restoring proper joint movement in the ankle and foot, addressing soft tissue restrictions that develop during healing, and using SoftWave Therapy to support deeper tissue recovery when pain or stiffness persists. Each piece plays a role in helping the ankle regain strength, mobility, and confidence in movement.

If an ankle still feels stiff, weak, or ‘not quite right,’ it’s often a sign the injury needs more targeted attention.

Stress doesn’t just affect your mood — it shows up physically, too.

Tight neck and shoulders, headaches, jaw tension, shallow breathing, and lingering back stiffness are all common ways the body holds stress, especially during long winter months when schedules are full and movement is limited.

Chiropractic adjustments help relieve built-up tension and restore movement, soft tissue work helps address areas that stay tight under stress, and treatments like SoftWave can support deeper tissue recovery when tension has been hanging around for a while.

If stress has been showing up in your body more than usual, there are options to help you feel better.

February is when we see it happen every year.
The motivation dips. The scale stalls. And people start thinking they ‘messed it up already.’

In reality, this is usually the point where support makes the biggest difference. Tirzepatide injections aren’t about replacing healthy habits — they’re about making it easier to stick with them when life gets busy and energy is low.

You don’t have to wait until you’re frustrated, burned out, or starting over again. Getting help now is often what keeps people moving forward instead of quitting altogether.

February has a way of draining your energy without you really noticing. Short days, cold temps, and weeks of tension add up fast — and suddenly you’re tired, stiff, and wondering why everything feels harder than it should.

Winter puts more stress on the body than people realize, especially when movement drops and tension sticks around longer than usual.

If you’ve been feeling run down lately, this might be your body asking for a little more support and we're here to give it.

When the season slows down, a lot of athletes do too. Practices ease up, competitions pause, and recovery tends to get pushed aside.

But the off-season is actually when movement work and recovery matter most. It’s when the body resets, nagging issues get addressed, and small problems don’t have the chance to turn into next season’s injuries.

Taking care of your body between seasons helps you move better, feel better, and start the next one stronger instead of playing catch-up.

February gets a lot of talk about love languages, so here’s ours: feeling good.

Less tension. Better movement. Sleeping without waking up stiff. Not feeling worn down by normal days.

That’s the kind of ‘self-care’ that actually sticks — and it has nothing to do with chocolates or roses. If your body’s been asking for some attention lately, this is your reminder to listen and give us a call to help.

Winter sports might be indoors, but they’re not easy on the body.

Basketball, wrestling, and winter training put a lot of stress on joints, muscles, and recovery — quick movements, hard floors, repetitive impact, and not much rest in between. Even when athletes feel ‘fine,’ wear and tear adds up fast during the season.

Regular care helps athletes recover better, move well, and stay ahead of small issues before they turn into bigger ones. In-season is still a good time to take care of the body.

January has a way of pushing people toward extremes — cut everything out, work out nonstop, and hope motivation lasts. Most of the time, it doesn’t.

Sustainable weight loss comes from consistency and support, not burning yourself out in the first few weeks of the year. Tirzepatide can help make that consistency easier by supporting appetite control and helping you stay on track without feeling miserable.

The goal isn’t perfection, it’s building momentum you can actually keep. And we'll help you get there.

This is cupping, and it’s one of the tools we use when an area just won’t loosen up. 😬

You’ll usually see cupping used on spots like the low back, shoulders, hips, and upper back — places that get tight from sitting, lifting, training, or just daily wear and tear.

Cupping works by lifting the tissue instead of pressing down on it. That helps increase blood flow, release tight muscles, and give irritated areas a chance to calm down and heal.

The marks fade in a few days, but the relief usually sticks around a lot longer. If stretching and rest haven’t been enough, cupping can be a really helpful next step.

When pain or tightness keeps coming back, it’s often because the tissue never fully healed in the first place. That’s why just ‘taking it easy’ sometimes isn’t enough, especially in the winter when old injuries like to flare up.

SoftWave Therapy helps stimulate healing at a deeper level by increasing blood flow and activating the body’s natural repair process. It’s a great option for stubborn pain that hasn’t responded to rest alone.

If something’s been lingering longer than it should, this might be the missing piece.
