The Donate Life flag will remain flying in the Atrium at Conemaugh Memorial throughout the month of April. Thank you to everyone who joined us and showed their support for organ donation awareness.

Throughout the month, we encourage our community to learn more about organ, tissue, and cornea donation and how one decision can bring hope to those waiting for a life-saving transplant. Ready to become a registered donor? Visit RegisterMe.org/Campaign/Conemaugh to register today. 💙💚

🚶‍♀️❤️ Step into better health this National Walking Day!

In recognition of National Walking Day, we’re celebrating one of the simplest — and most powerful — ways to improve your health: walking.

💗 Reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 30–40%
💗 Help lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels
💗 Burn calories and support healthy weight management

Whether it’s a quick walk during your lunch break, a stroll with family, or laps around your neighborhood with your furry friend — today is the perfect day to start.

Colorectal cancer often develops without symptoms in its early stages. When detected early, the five-year survival rate is about 90 percent. However, many cases are diagnosed at later stages when treatment is more complex.

Screening can detect precancerous polyps before they turn into cancer. National guidelines now recommend starting colorectal cancer screening at age 45 for average-risk adults.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is an opportunity to learn your risk and understand your screening options. Don't delay your care. Talk with your healthcare provider today about your risks for colorectal cancer. Looking for a provider who fits your needs? Visit Conemaugh.org today!

Last week, the trauma team partnered with the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA for their Senior Series Lunch & Learn focusing on Lifesaving Skills for Grandparents. 📝

During the session, the team instructed future, new, and seasoned grandparents on infant and youth injury prevention including safe sleep practices, choking and fall prevention, medication safety, and car seat safety—along with a hands-on opportunity to build confidence in emergency response skills. ❤

Participants also left with home safety kits to reinforce what they learned, including educational resources, smoke detectors, medication safe storage bags, baby-proofing supplies, and more. 🦺
