💜 Maternal Health Awareness Day is a time to shine a light on the importance of care before, during, and after pregnancy. While childbirth may last a day, the postpartum period is critical—more than half of pregnancy-related deaths occur weeks or months after delivery.

At Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, we’re proud to support new parents through our Special Delivery Program, which provides postpartum patients with a wristband to wear for six weeks after delivery. This simple tool helps alert healthcare providers to recent childbirth, encouraging early recognition and treatment of potential complications.

By raising awareness and prioritizing postpartum care, we’re working to improve maternal health outcomes and ensure families feel supported during this vital time. 💕

Congratulations to the latest class of New Leader Curriculum graduates! 🎓🎉

The NLC program is provided for every leader promoted from within or welcomed to Conemaugh Health System. The program helps support our leaders as they transition into their new roles and includes courses for leadership development in business acumen, relationship building, and personal development.

Upon the completion of their coursework, leaders are then presented with management certificate from CHS and Saint Francis University.

Conemaugh Health System is proud to once again host the Mentoring in Medicine program to help you prepare for medical school. Entering its 23rd year, the program is here to inspire and prepare current pre-med students for careers in medicine.

The program, a 10-week summer internship provides students with immersive clinical exposure through shadowing opportunities, individualized mentoring, and support through their medical school application journey.

Supporting more than 200 students and boasting an impressive 80% medical school acceptance rate, the program is open to all rising college juniors and seniors majoring in pre-med, or first-year medical students, who reside in Cambria, Somerset, or Bedford counties.
