Remember.. this is a way to induce. ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO MAKE EDUCATED DECISIONS.

This is called a Foley Bulb induction. Have you had this done before? Did it work? Was it uncomfortable?

A Foley bulb is a catheter with a small balloon at the end.

It’s inserted through the cervix and inflated with saline to apply pressure.

This pressure helps the cervix soften and dilate, often to 3–5 cm.

It’s commonly used when the cervix is closed, thick, or not yet ready for labor.

You need both. Not one or they other. AND they are not they same. They have specifically different jobs. Now get out there and hire a midwife AND a doula!

This was a great article.

Dr. Farrington- co-founder & executive director of the BLACK COALITION FOR SAFE MOTHERHOOD teaches Black women to use the acronym ACCT.

A= ask questions until the answers are understood
C= Claim their physical & mental space
T= trust their bodies
T= Tell your story (during care, birth, after birth, and during any healthcare encounter).

Remember, you deserve to feel safe & heard under care.

Black Doula Day🫶🏾.

I realized that this birth was #11 for me. While that number may not be high, I do not take any of my clients lightly. It is with a grateful heart that I thank ALL my clients. Also, to the many women who have reached out to me for support or advice, I am glad that I could be a safe space for you.

My journey has been full of different experiences, which is molding me into a better doula after every birth. Being a doula during covid taught me that . I had no other choice but to educate my clients and then virtually watch them use what they were taught. GET THE EDUCATION IF NOTHING ELSE. **IT MATTERS**

As my journey continues, I just want to thank everyone for all the love and support during this journey.

NEW LIFE....🤰🏾

Birth/pregnancy is literally one of the most intimate moments one can have. I am always honored when someone asks me to be apart of their journey.

After so many hours virtually, we finally met up today for a little one on one time.

Putting a little bit of that childbirth education class into action. We worked on some breathing techniques & comfort measures. And I snapped a picture of dad practicing his hip squeezes ❤️🤣. If it's not one thing I love, it's a 🫶🏾. We are getting so close, and everyone is getting excited. Although a little bit nervous, we talked about some ways to begin building a positive mindset about birth. 🥰

LADIES BELIEVE IN YOUR BODIES, IT'S BUILT FOR BIRTH💪🏾.

Happy Sunday.

So, transparent moment. I took a small break from doula work (posting about it or making content) because this journey as a small business owner isn't always easy🙏🏽. And I got super busy with other things, not allowing me to put 100% into my business. If I can't give it my all, then I won't do it. But, I am currently working on getting out of my head and doing what needs to be done💪🏾.

Of course, I still do background work because at the end of the day, people know that they are free to reach out to me for any kind of advice related to pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. As always, I take pride in people reaching out to me, and I am happy to be a safe space for many🤎.

With that being said. I won't be accepting any new clients or having any childbirth education classes until next year❤️. As I'm working on getting things back up and running on my end. I am focused on getting a new business website up and running and also updating my childbirth class.

DON'T WORRY YA'LL, DOULA J IS STILL HERE. THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT ON THIS JOURNEY🫶🏾.

AND TO ANY OF MY PAST CLIENTS, YA'LL ALREADY KNOW HOW I AM COMING 4 YOU🤎🤎🤎🤎 💪🏾💪🏾.
