→ Why does my arm not drain even though I am wearing a compression sleeve?
Q: Many clients ask why their arm still feels swollen or heavy even while wearing a compression sleeve.
A: One of the definitions of Lymphedema is that the fluid cannot get out for one reason or another. Sometimes, the sleeve may be too tight, or the shoulder and chest areas may be congested and simply need to be drained.
Think of it like getting all the dust to the dustpan. In this case, the supraclavicular fossa (just above the collarbone) is the body’s “drainage point.” If that area is not open, the sleeve cannot do its job.
Always be measured by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) to ensure your sleeve fits correctly and supports proper lymph flow.
