Eliana’s second CareFirst delivery of over 100 first aid kits in partnership with The Night Ministry was a dream fulfilled!
She was invited to tour and provide kits for:
🚐The Outreach bus that serves over 100 people experiencing homelessness or poverty per evening, five nights/week.

🛏️The Crib that provides overnight and short-term housing programs and support for twenty one young people (aged 18-24) per night who are experiencing homelessness or poverty.

🍑🔥Just when you thought the Bulgarian Split Squat (BSS) couldn’t get any worse…I present to you the Ballerina BSS. 🫣💃🏽

Why I love it:
1. I’m a huge fan of squat variations because they are functional - they MIMIC everyday movements.
2. Single-leg exercises are your secret weapon.
3. BONUS: In addition to working the glute medius & maximus, the BBSS also hits the adductors!

Set it up:
Barefoot is always BEST. 🦶🏻or 🧦
Shin on the bench or box with the top of the foot flat and facing down and PERPENDICULAR to your front leg (trust me). 📐
Hold dumbbells at your sides.

➡️Forward movement:
Front knee is soft, brace core, big inhale, pinch shoulders together for a wide chest, neutral neck- look slightly in front of your big toe.
SLOWLY drive the knee forward to 90 degrees.

⬅️Backward movement:
Explosive exhale, push front heel into the ground until your glute wants to punch you.
SLOWLY drive hips back to start.

Over the past fifteen years as a certified fitness professional,
I have had the privilege of coming alongside clients who have invited me into their journeys to overcome challenges and obstacles of every shape and size.
Always curious as to how I can better serve my clients, I became increasingly interested in the mind/body/spirit connection. I quickly became aware of how my own PTSD and emotional dysregulation has shaped my physical health, which inspired a deep dive into the fascinating neurobiology of trauma.

All forms of trauma - acute, chronic, complex, generational - simultaneously affect an individual’s emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual dimensions.
