We are thrilled to welcome Rabbi Jenny Steinberg-Martinez, JD, CHT, as the new Executive Director of Stepping Stones Treatment Center!

Rabbi Jenny brings over two decades of experience in clinical care, spiritual counseling, nonprofit leadership, and legal advocacy. From founding recovery programs to mentoring youth and serving on local boards, her passion for healing and community runs deep.

She steps into the role following the dedicated leadership of Paul Lauridsen, who will remain through the end of the year to support a smooth transition. We are deeply grateful for Paul's years of service and excited for this new chapter under Rabbi Jenny's guidance.

Congratulations Marge! 👏🎉

The George Schwab Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual who has provided the greatest service to the Association in a given year. The award is given in memory of George Schwab, President of IADDA (currently IABH) from 1979-1980, who symbolized the sacrifice and commitment of professionals in the field. Recipients should be individuals who have made significant personal contributions to IABH and to the behavioral healthcare field.

This year's recipient, Marge Garay from Stepping Stones Treatment Center, embodies the commitment of Mr. Schwab and what he believed in, showcasing relentless advocacy for promoting addiction treatment and striving for excellence in providing care services to all individuals. Through her unwavering dedication, she has made significant contributions to the field of addiction and mental health services within Illinois and has provided excellent input and knowledge to IABH members through her co-chair tole on the Practice Committee.
