“Everytime I look back over my training I remember this loving and passionate couple and the doula that allowed me to shadow her and her clients as they navigated their way through the uncertain times of COVID, laboring mostly at home, and preparing for a successful VBAC. I had the pleasure of capturing these supportive moments between husband and wife and was in awe. In their notes of appreciation, they mentioned how their doulas support was EVERYTHING. It affirmed for me that I too wanted to be that support in the special moments for growing families for years to come. A doula doesn’t have to be front and center in the delivery room, during the birth and labor… as a matter of fact the doula is additional support for the entire family… providing education and encouragement while preparing for the arrival of your little one, empowering the parents with tools to help each other with pain management, positioning , and breathing, and possibly assisting with postpartum care once the baby is home. I pulled a variety of topics together into one resource to get the ball rolling in our first sessions together.
